UI needs some work, as well as the level is currently a static map (hence my drawings in it), however the final touches are being made! 馃榾

Day 1 progress update

I’ve been bouncing around ideas for awhile now, and bouncing around languages finding out what I want to actually do this time… I am not loving this theme at all, It… It’s just plain terrible. But that’s part of the fun of LD, I guess! However I think I have a semi-set direction now.

Going to be using Dart with WebGl for the engine, originally was going to go with java, but web applets suck ass now, so I opted for the language I know less of, but is more accessible. May or may not go with some fancy lighting, depends on time constraints.

Spent about 3? hours on it so far, going to be doing a sort of Super Mario 64 type thing, except solely 2D… Depending on quickly I can actually do it. But that’s all I can crank out tonight, so it’s time to sleep now, god help us all…

Oh, and the current build can be found here if you’re interested [WASD/Arrow Keys to move, mouse wheel to zoom in on background], mind you it’s has a long way to go…

Ready to roll out!

Super pumped for LD this weekend! Going to be using Dart once again and will be streaming the whole process over on my twitch page live.vanzeben.ca starting at 7PM EST

Now it’s time to get some zzz’s and food for later!

Day 1

I usually take the first day to just plan out the weekend and ideas and such, so I feel I got a pretty good game-plan. Going to do a platformer with a single input and with forced forward movement, with the level shapeshifting you into other characters that have different input results (for example, one character’s input might make him jump whereas another’s might make him flip axis or invert himself)

Using dart with Atom
Project repository can be found here
Also streaming the whole thing over on Twitch
