After almost a full day of work, we managed to get some work done. Doing the jam with 3 other friends.

Couple hacking here some fights for the first time… Imagine the possibilities! :)) while i’m coding she’s doing the artsy stuff and it will be bloody great! Today the basics, tomorrow the details and the next day the sounds.

I managed to get almost all the game logic in today, that could be called an achievement imo.

Trying to get animations to work is harder than it looks, lol. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish them by mid-day tomorrow and I can start working on juicing the game. The fighting stage is in works too, on the bright side, that’s a static image!

This is starting to look like a game that I’d play in my free time!

Artsy part is finished, prepare for combat!

Anyone up for some punching?

At first we weren’t too excited about the theme, until the idea of a fighter game with only forward/backward moves and combos came to us. My gf started drawing some sketches and I began coding. By mid day Saturday, I already had the controls implemented and it seemed like fun to play, everything else came into place eventually.. more on that later.

This was by far the most intense LD I took part in, the first one I entered with the miss. Right now I’m pretty hyped about the possibilities with this game, I’m already thinking about a mobile port and maybe a local multiplayer version.

You can’t do a lot with only two buttons, but you surely can use combinations to suit your game. Fight games are mastering the art of combos so we tried our best to make it work for us.
