So now that I’ve slept and finished work (Crazy Australian timezones), I’ll talk a little about my project.
Overall, really happy with how it turned out.
I planned it terribly, so the gameplay coming together as well as it did (well, I like it) was more of an evolutionary fluke as opposed to clever planning. Next time I’ll definitely spend a lot more time in planning… more than walking to the shops and buying food, then starting.
I think I’d also like to explore character and story development more. Surprising doing the little comic / instructions screen was a lot of fun. Had I been more organised or had more time I would definitely like to animate cutscenes in that style.
On the downside, loading it up at work I noticed that some of the fonts didn’t embed, which was a bummer because I don’t have access my server from here to correct and upload the fix. I should just be thankful that it was just a niggly thing like that and not a deal-breaker.
Lots of fun, will definitely be doing it again in another 4 months. I’m hooked!
Time to go play a boat-load of games…

Would love to here what scores you’re all getting. I just got 133 points. I think there’s potential to get upwards of 300… maybe more.

One day has passed and we are happy with our progress so far. Our idea is coming together but we still have a few fundamentals to implement to pull it together.
Here is a quick screenshot:

Press X to pick up and throw objects, try to kill the bear. You can’t actually die yet.

Drag things up into the trees and eat them.
The dangling mechanic feels fun. Not sure where the game is in here yet though.
Any ideas?
