So I finished my game for this Ludum Dare, which was the second one I joined. This time I submitted pretty early in comparison to LD48. Now I decided to write a bit about my experience the past 3 days and compare this to my last ld jam. I really liked the theme 'delay the inevitable', my first thought when I heard it was death, because at some time we all die. Another idea was the end of the world, but maybe it wont happen, so I just went with the death. I also noticed that we could use 2 types of death here: in-game-death or real life death (story), and 'cause making story games in jams leads usually to overscoping or it is a lot of stress I went with the first one. When were compare that to my last ld jam where the theme was 'deeper and deeper' I just had an easier time coming up with ideas. After the idea was set, I just made a bad looking prototype to test out if the idea was fun (I also missed that step last year). Here a big challenge was to make the wind feel like actual wind even without the visuals. After that it was no special process exept for keeping my social media followers quite up to date what I usually don't do much. At the end of day 2 I was actually finished. Today, day 3, I only fixed two bugs, that happened a lot. Lastly I exported the game and in 1-2 hours I made a page for it. This was way faster than last year (comparison: I submitted 3hours before end last time, and im writing this while there are still 6+ hours left + I could have submitted it yesterday), probably that's because I just practiced the game dev craft every single day from then and I always learned something new.
With these words said, I hope you have a great day and maybe you want to play my submission  https://ryder-studios.itch.io/delay-your-death

I've finally finished my game.
I would appreciate if some of you guys tried it since it was a lot of time. It is one of the first games I made in Unity so I don't expect much. But I'd still appreciate if you at least tried it! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/crystal-clear
In addition to giving feedback and Rating games, I also interview ever developer over Discord while playing their game on my stream!

I'm live now and will be for 2 hours!

But here it is! I'm semi proud of it, and also sort of hate it. You know how it is ;)

Around 30 hours worth of work later and I have finished and published Reactor meltdown! Im a fan of the simpsons and whenever I think of a nuclear reactor I just think of Homer in that chair doing anything but working. So while I was making the game I decided I would give it a Simpsons theme. Give it a try and I hope you enjoy!

How quick are you? My teammate and I finished our game which puts your reflexes to the test.
I am very proud of our work on this jam. It's funny that both of us feels that the other one did the lion's share of the work. I love relearning the meaning of teamwork on jams. <3

Guys, my game for the LD50 COMPO is available, a cRPG where you have 24 hours to defeat a terrible evil. But if you can't, you can always go back in time and try again.
Hope you like it! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/the-final-day

Healer: Yo! Man! Why so serious?
Beardface: We finished the game and posted it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/heal-me-please

In short, you need to try your best to catch everything around you to slow down your falling speed - including but not limited to innocent birds, umbrellas that appear in the sky for some reason, and rockets that rise. The production is quite rough, but the finished product makes people laugh. I'm glad to share this game with you.!

Didn't get quite as much done as I'd have liked, but 'Crushing Dread' is done.!
If you play it and leave a comment, I'll be sure to play your game when I can! Takes about 3 minutes.

So we managed to finish a game for this Ludum Dare! I'm very glad and very tired. After LD49 when we failed to finish a game at all I was a bit upset and didn't believe that we could do it this time. But we did it!
This time the theme wasn't great for me. I voted against this theme because assumed that everybody will make their own "calm down stalin" kind of game. We wanted to avoid war, politics, asteroid, heat death of the universe themes.
So we tried to understand what is "inevitable". And we found that any script for a horror movie (usually) is inevitable.
First of all we set a plot for our game. Five teenagers, a hut, a cabin, a haunted house, an asylum and a mystery psycho killer.
Gameplay was a consequence of this plot.
Then 2.5 days of crunching and voila!
The name "I Know What You Did Last Ludum Dare!" was created last few hours. I know that is hard to write but it's so easy to pronounce and remember.
P.S. My wife said that we are reinvented a PacMan but without a berries (or whatever PacMan eats)

I'm way behind my usual schedule but for a good reason: This is the first game I made using my own game engine.
I have to say that it's beeing an amazing experience so far!
