Ludum Dare 50 April 2–5, 2022

Can someone test it while it's possible? (I'll explain why)

THIS was my first ever game made using my own game engine, but I had some last minute problems when exporting the game and because of that I'm a bit skeptical:

Can you test the game to see if it work on your machine?

Thank you in advance. Here is the game's page: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/50/the-loopers-bug

If it doesn't work, please let me know your machine specs as well.

And here is a cool banner just to make this post look good: loopers-bug-header-1.png

Hello fellow jammers, our team would like to invite everyone to try your chance on saving the trees from the Babylon's Garden Trees!

On our game you are a sacred green bird with a special gift to vanish flames from the trees and also recover its health. But you need to hurry as these ancient trees start to ignite themselves!

On the following days we are going to make some other updates on our sound design, balance and bugs. Looking forward to know your impressions!

Congratulations to everyone on this 50th Ludum Dare!

Can't wait to try other people's games, I'm so curious what you've came up with.

In fact, I would want to do it right meow, but first let's get a good night of sleep for the first time in 3 days ^^

Cheers guys <3

Published with 5 minutes to spare!

Woohoo! :tada:

This jam is probably our best one so far, at least from a developmental point of view. It's almost 3AM and we'll finally get to go to sleep. We'll make sure to check out your games tomorrow/these coming days!

Finished

And with less than three minutes left on the clock I finally submitted my entry. Have only slept for approx. 8 hours since 8am on saturday, I hope that at least one person likes my game. I am going to go to bed now and sleep till Easter!

The Eclipse is up!

Much like all of you, I've poured my partner and I have poured our blood sweat and tears into our jam game. We're actively rating and playing every game we see. If you have a suggestion on what to play drop a link! If you do drop a link, please also play and rate our game!

Mr. Fuse is done and published!

This LD was a blast (pun intended)! :bomb:

Hope you all had a good jam. Mine certainly was! Unfortunately, one of our developers was sick, so we didn't quite have the man-power to make everything we wanted, but it was still super fun! Now, I'm excited for some sleep!

First Ludum Dare finished! And really, our first real game!

frodo-lotr.gif

We haven't really slept in 3 days, but we are proud, excited, and maybe even a little bit emotional to say that our first Ludum Dare submission is now published!

Our goal for this jam was to learn how to scope things properly, and to actually make it to the finish line!

Our game (Scuttling Is Painless) is a short (and maybe a bit difficult) metroid/castlevania inspired narrative platformer where you control a "sad wee robot" who has to fix issues on an interstellar colony ship whose AI has gone a little rogue, collecting upgrades and morbid jokes along the way.

We lean heavily on open source software when we make stuff, and even though the code is a little naff (it started off elegant, I promise 😭) we've made the project files freely available on GitHub. You don't get to see my desparing commit messages though...

Tools used:

  • Engine: Unity
  • Sound: FamiTracker/Reaper/Audacity/JSFXR
  • IDE: Visual Studio 2022
  • Graphics: Asperite/Paint.NET/GIMP
  • Trailer: Davinci Resolve

I think I speak for @HexyVexy and myself when I say that this has been an amazingly creatively fulfilling weekend, and that we'll see you all in October!

Can't wait to play everyone elses submission!

Fly and Dive Ludum Dare 50 Game

Please rate my game. I did it solo this year. I hope you like it https://seabirddigital.itch.io/fly-and-dive SC3.png

FLAT IDEA

We are proud to announce our LD50 entry * FLAT IDEA *.

Can you image what would happen to a flat earth if its population gets overgrown?

We went crazy doing everything for the game (and unfortunately we had only the weekend to develop it). Sometimes we have problems with our scope, but huh, we had to do our best (and we are preeeety happy with the results)!

We hope that you all have fun playing it! Every feedback will be appreciated :) :)
