The format for Congressional Cup 2023 will continue as a 10-team, double round robin series, followed by semi- and petit finals, with a final stage to determine the victor of the trophy and prestigious Crimson Blazer.

The rules specify that AI is not allowed but wouldn't it be fun to see how far we can take it? A JAM-category where AI-tools is allowed could be fun. JAMing for me is to experiment that would be a new way to experiment and to see what can be done by a small team during a weekend where all assets need to be made during the JAM, even if it is by an AI.

I wanted to share my code base for setting up simple 2D games using ahead of the jam. It includes a bunch of cool stuff, from menus to post processing effects! You are free to fork it for you own games or simply grab whatever scripts and scenes you might need. Also code contributions are very welcome!

This uses the future 4.1 release for now, so you'll need to build Godot from source to use it (or try your luck with 4.0, a few things might not work as intended though). I'll also be adding new stuff before and after the jam :slight_smile:

A thought about theme suggestions: In the past I have mostly suggested themes that I would dream of making a game in the jam, but hadn't thought what others might get out of that theme. This time I went the other way and selected themes that I could make up at least three meanings for the mere wording of the theme. That way when making it a into a game there will be even more interpretations for those alternative meanings.
