LD 38 April 21–24, 2017

A simple drawing program using java Graphics2D

It’s rushed but I made it for school activities. It is even saveable (PNG image type). The source code is included in the youtube link description. Source code: https://github.com/doppelgunner/ShapeDrawing

Last valentines I drew something using the program:

next time maybe I’ll make a pixel type software just for fun. With, image processing techniques maybe (using famous algorithms). Also subscribe to my channel.

I added svg as file format, some results aren’t that satisfying

As reference to my earlier post about the shapedrawing program (java2d):

Source code: https://github.com/doppelgunner/ShapeDrawing

Someone in youtube commented that maybe I should try to export the images in svg format. So here it is. I found a way to save the image into SVG format. I used a lib called ImageTracer. Below is the sample. I love the mousepad though (the mousepad with the sexy girl).

Hey,

I’m in

etc

I’m in LD #38

It will be my first Ludum Dare, and my first game jam!

I’m super excited and i hope I will be able to make it to the end of these 48 hours of hard work (i will take part in compo) :)

My strongest side is programming, graphics will be weak, but the worst part is music i think i will use generator 😀

I will be using :

  • Unity 5.6
  • Visual Studio 2017 community
  • Gimp 2.8
  • Audacity
  • abundant-music.com

Wish me luck, and good luck to y’all :)

Welcome to the party! I’m sure everything will go perfectly fine. I’m pretty similar myself programming is my strong suit, graphics are lacking, and music is pretty much a lost cause. So i’m in the same boat as you there, though this is my second LD.

I’m in.

Don’t mind me, just adding to the noise.

Post-LD version of The Reign of an Early Fairy Sovereign (CYOA)

Hey guys and gals,

I made a post-LD version of my text adventure game about ruling a fairy empire.

Nothing much has changed in terms of story, except I’ve made the game more fun by making it easier to find all the endings and I’ve added more backgrounds (the LD version had just one background) and some sounds/music (the LD version was mute). Hence, it’s better for those that haven’t played the game to experience it for the first time. Here it is: http://gamejolt.com/games/troaefs/247816

some clickbaity images:

(つ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)つ enjoy

I’m In

I’m ecstatic to participate in LD #38

I will be using

-Gamemaker Studio 2

-Aseprite

-Bfxr

-Google

-Garage Band (If I add music)

Will be Jamming this time with Queeninwonderland doing art+music

Oooh, Aseprite! I love that little software, its a shame more people don’t use it honestly. ^_^

Real world meetup in London?

Anybody up for this? I really wanted to go to the one at NewSpeak House but the tickets sold out really quickly :-( reply here or tweet/DM @berkano!

I’ll be taking part in LD38, and am really looking forward to seeing the new ldjam.com in action!

I will have my usual tools at the ready. Java, LibGDX, Tiled, OpenMPT, Ableton Live, Photoshop.

My game framework/source (katsu) is available at https://github.com/berkano/katsu.

I’ve been working on it quite a bit over the last few weeks, cleaning up code, improving text rendering, adding mod playback, upgrading my Gradle+LibGDX version, using proper logging, and improving the way entities are loaded from Tiled maps.

Good luck everyone and looking forward to playing your entries!!

Congrats on deciding to join for the first time!! It’ll be a wonderful experience.

I’m in!

Ludum Dare #38 – bring it on! Hoping to do some sort of turn-based strategy game for this one.

I’m in, once again

My 8th Ludum Dare, coming right up! I just moved and everything in my life is a bit of a mess as a result, but Ludum Dare waits for no man.

My Ludum Dare toolchain is forever new and yet always the same:

  • Unity 5 with Visual Studio,
  • Photoshop for graphics,
  • ChipTone for sound effects,
  • REAPER, and my iPad with sundry apps, for music. I have a beefier home recording setup now, but think I’ll keep it simple as always.

Undetermined as to whether I’ll be aiming for the Jam or Compo. I have a commitment of a few hours on Sunday afternoon, but that hasn’t stopped me before.

Let’s do this, friends!

I finally out the order in for my new computer and It will arrive just in time for the jam!

In the past I’ve been using Gamemaker but I’ve been learning a bit of Unity and I’m exited to see what we can put together with it this time around. I’ve also got Gimp, Audacity and a few friends helping me out.

This will be my 4th LD.  Looking forward to it.

Most likely will be doing the Compo, and I will be using:

  • Unity
  • Photoshop, Paint.Net
  • Audacity
  • bfxr, Otomata

There is a slim chance that I may use Corona instead of Unity, but it depends on the theme and whether I decide to do a 2D game.  Not really sure… I have to be in the right mood.

This is my first time hearing about Corona – looks very interesting!

I’m in! But I’m doing things differently…

So, Ludum dare 38 is arriving! This will be my 8th Ludum Dare, and for the first time, I will be doing things differently than to how I would usually do it.

Firstly, I’m working in a team for the first time! One of my friends from school will be doing art (because I’m awful at it lol), and this will be his first ludum dare. Finally my game might actually look decent (if you look through my past ludum dare games, they all look horrible). XD

Secondly, I’m setting a bit of a challenge for myself. I’m going to program my game in LWJGL 3 (along with Java which I already have good experience in of course), although I had little to no experience in it prior to today. Given that, I will probably be using a basic/very quickly made engine for things such as shaders, matrix maths and maybe a window, because after following some tutorials on LWJGL 3, I realised will never memorize everything needed for the engine from now until the start of ludum dare. Given that, I will still definitely be using LWJGL 3 and GLSL (for the shaders) outside of my engine and I think this will be a good challenge and learning experience for me! 😀

As for what programs I will be using:

IDE: Eclipse

Language: Java + LWJGL 3

Audio: Musescore (for soundtrack) + Audacity (for recording) + possibly either sfxr or my boss rc-505 loopstation (for sound effects).

Good luck everyone! 😀
