LD 38 April 21–24, 2017

I’m in!

I’m in for LD38!

After mismanagement forced me into the Jam for LD 37, I will definitely try to go for the Compo again this time.

I might also try my hand at MiniLD73 as a warm-up. I always wanted to make a rhythm game and I always got frustrated when I had to throw together some lackluster music at the very end of LD when my brain had turned to mush. So, yeah, perfect opportunity to test different music making tools!

I’m in for 38

I’ve never done Ludum Dare before, but it’s always looked like a ton of fun. depending on how my schedule changes between now and then, I will attempt to either do the Compo or the Jam, not sure at this point. Regardless of which one I try, I’m sure it will be an mass of stress and fun.

Good luck to everyone.

A mass of stress and fun is the perfect description 😀 It’s a weekend-long headache each time, but we all keep coming back 😉

0000 on Steam Greenlight.

Hello everyone!

My game, 0000, is finally on Steam Greenlight! I’d really appreciate your votes and feedback. This game is a love letter to games like VVVVVV, Super Meatboy, N++ and Hero Core. I tried to make a game I’d love to play and I hope it will show – and that others will enjoy it as much as I did. Here’s the trailer and description of the game.

This game started as an LDJAM 31 entry and I polished + added 100 levels to make is as challenging and fun as possible. Let’s hope it shows!

0000 is a hard-as-nails platformer in which you play as a courageous 1-bit cowboy. With your weapon and awesome double jump, your task is to defeat 100 unique levels. Fear not, in 0000 death is never final. Each failure warps you into a new, randomly selected level, until you conquer them all. What awaits those that get to the end? Err… spoilers, dude!

Let’s hope you’re not scared of deadly lasers or evil robots. How about killer pong-style balls and sharp spikes? You better be up for a challenge.

Ludum Dare 38 meetup at Newspeak House, London!

Hi everyone!

Rosa & I are organising a meetup for Ludum Dare 38 at Newspeak House in London.

If you’re in or around London on the Ludum Dare weekend, come jam with us!

Newspeak House

What is Newspeak House?
Newspeak House is a hackspace for politics. Started by Edward Saperia, it is a hub for people who believe that technology has the power to improve society.

We will be jamming in their communal space, a spacious and bright room on the ground floor of the building and a stone-throw away from Shoreditch High Street. If the weather is nice, we can also make use of their terrace.

There will be:

Lightning fast internet speeds
Showers
24 hour access
Free food and drink
Optional self-care activites
Tables and chairs

What to bring:

A laptop and charger
Pens, paper, whiteboards – what you need to get creative
A sleeping bag and a pillow
A matt or blow-up mattress

Please sign up on the EventBrite at https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/ludum-dare-game-jam-at-newspeak-house-tickets-32981465451

Money from ticket sales will all go towards providing free food and drink. If you are a student or unemployed and cannot afford a ticket, contact Rosa at r.carbomascarell (at) gmail (dot) com or tweet at her on @moreelen.

Hope to see you there!

Any Stencyl-ers out there?

Then let’s team up for ludum dare!

Go to IRC anytime to get all your questions answered. There are always helpful people, even when there are no recent or coming-soon jams.

Is there a good artist that wants to team up!

If so please leave a comment with some of your works as a link and I’ll maybe contact you!

Im In!

Congrats! I suggest sending a link to PoV (maybe after the LD tho because he is pretty busy fixing up the new site now), he can promote (on the LD curators) your game since it was released in an LD.

Real World Gatherings for Ludum Dare 38 (Placeholder)

Hey folks! If you’re the organizer of a gathering, please leave a comment below. Please include:

  • What Country?
  • What City/State/Province
  • Name of where it is (i.e. an office, coffee shop, etc)
  • Any relevant details (i.e. capacity)
  • A link to more information

This post is a placeholder until we launch the gatherings feature on the new website. I would highly recommend you also create an account on https://ldjam.com for when this feature goes live.

I’m in

Ooooh boy here we go. I’m in for the LD 38. It will be my first serious experience in programming a game, let’s just hope my computer doesn’t explode.

Woot Woot!! Welcome to the compo! It can be overwhelming, but it is most definitely worth it in the end. I’ve only participated once, back in LD 34, but I’ve never felt so proud. I’m sure you’ll do great! Just enjoy the experience!

Game / Music Video

I’m in.

I wanna make something small that can function as a game, but also as a performance based music video. In other words, playing the game will create a music video. Something small and simple. HTML5 based.

I’m in! (I think?)

All things permitting, I’m returning for LD38. There are no words to describe how excited I am! The last time I joined was in 2015 for LD34, and coincidentally that was my first time joining as well. I look forward to experiencing this wonderfully chaotic and rewarding event once again. It is long overdue.

^_^ I extend a friendly good luck to everyone who is participating this time around! ^_^

I’m in!

21st? It’s going to be my birthday! I’m so lucky :)

That’s Awesome!! Congrats on the upcoming birthday, what wonderful timing :)

Old music

I was digging through some of my old files from previous Ludum Dare games, and I discovered a track I originally composed for my 35th Ludum Dare game, Defective Wiring. I thought it might be cool to share it for some reason, so
