In / Wallpaper / Streamers List

Hey everybody, I’m very happy to be part of this once more! :)

Kudos to PoV for progress on the new site! The streamers widget on the new site doesn’t incorporate Youtube or Hitbox yet, so I’m going to plug my “Ludum Dare Streamers” mini site (probably for the last time): https://openfu.com/ld/live/?

Also, some wallpapers because I felt like it, use as you wish:

Let's go! I'm in!

Happy to be jumping into another LudumDare Compo! It's been too long. Hopefully I won't get bogged down by my homework and will be able to give it 100%, but we'll see.

The cast and crew:

🍕 Construct2: Awesome HTML5 game creation software!

🍕 Aseprite: Spectacular pixel art program!

🍕 GIMP: Open source photo editor! Always handy.

🍕 LSDJ and bgb: Authentic Gameboy synthesizer! Love it!

🍕 Auacity: Open source sound editor! Sounds good to me.

🍕 itch.io: Needs no introduction. The coolest game storefront ever.

I am in Too :D

First time at a GameJam and i hope me and my friend from germany will make something thats playable :D

Using: Unreal Engine 4, Photoshop

I'm so in, guys! SO IN! I'm working with an artist for LD38, and I'm pretty jazzed! Construct 2, Spriter, and some kind of image editing software.

Good luck, all!!

So excited! I AM IN!

Super excited for this jam. Can't wait. Happy jamming everyone!

Iniam

or better, Inweare, this time, for the first time, i join forces and will work together with @Foya. No witty comment this time, i'll use * PHPstorm * Phaser * Audacity * Voicebox

and hopefully we will be able to create something fun and interesting :)

Exited about the new page, lets see how it works.

On that note, goeth forth and codeth

First Ludum Dare

Well, this takes me back a lot. Hi, I'm Saithir and this is ~~my first blog post! ;)~~ my first try at Ludum Dare.

Currently I'm a Ruby on Rails programmer for my day job, and game developeent has been my hobby for a while now, even working for a while at a company making HTML5 games. You can check out the stuff I've done either on my webpage (for older stuff) or on my Itch page for playable versions of my own ones. They're nothing special really, but they're mine and they're playable - and that IS a big thing.

April was pretty slow for me in the gamedev regard, as I've had a lot of other commitments and stuff happening in my life, so I couldn't really focus on doing anything. LD is a good means to keep up with my One Game a Month plan. :)

I'm going to be trying for the Compo of course, seeing as I don't have a team anyway ;) There will be Unity3d involved, as well as Pyxel Edit, Bfxr and whatever else I need.

This is my first Ludum Dare. I supposed to have fun with it, but I planned everything today. My strong point is programming.

How long until the people calm down?

Oh, you wanted to comment on that post? What post?

We're in. Coming from little old Lyons

This time round my team had some new members and some people are changing up their skills. I super excited to see what everyone comes up with.

Good luck to everyone!

It's time to once again drop whichever project I was working on and take part of yet another compo! :) Actually, this past few days I've been mostly playing games, so this is a great time to go back to developing stuff.

I feel like I haven't really been able to finish my past few entries, so I'll strive to do something much simpler and more polished. Worst case scenario, I'll have to hastily push my framework's branch with continuous collision half-implemented, so this isn't a repetition of my LD37 entry (old site).

My tools haven't changed at all from last time... However, there were a few modifications to my working environment! I can now finally cross compile to Windows, so no more restarting the computer to boot that and build the game. A simple make deploy will build for all supported targets!

  • Language: C
  • Library: GFraMe (2.4.1)
  • Music: c_synth (1.0.2c)
  • Reference project: JJAT 2 (mostly for references on the new template… and on collision)
  • SFX: sfxr/bfxr
  • Editor: Vim
  • Tilemap editor: Tiled
  • Timelapse: Chronolapse
  • Image editor: GIMP
  • OS: Ubuntu 14.04
  • Window manager: i3 (first time using it on a LD!!)
  • Streaming: Open Broadcaster Software (maybe, who knows...)
  • Base game resolution: 320×240 (I like this res… don’t ask…)

I've already set up my entry's repository with an enhanced version of the template I've used on past events.

I hope you all have a great time! Remember to sleep and eat well, and to drink lots of water! And, most important: have fun! =D

P.S.: Shout-outs to Mike and everyone who has helped with the new site! I'm really hyped to take part of the first LD on the new site! Thanks for all the work put toward making all the events happen!

Am I in the line for the frozen yogurt store?

Oh, a video game making competition. I've never done anything like this before and I don't know any engines so I guess I'll just use custom stuff. Maybe Blender for assets. What's an asset?

Are we going to have a #ldjam on our games?

That would be cool. A tag for all out games spread in various places amongst the internet. I'll be putting mine on Kongregate and I'll do my best to tag #ldjam

This will be my first ludum dare. I've done hackathons before, and about half of the time my entry ends up being a game or game-like, so I figure I might be ready to try an actual game! As a web guy, I'll be using PhaserJS and JavaScript since it's what I know the best. I've spent the last couple evenings catching up on tutorials and learning some tools for asset creation. I'm feeling ready for this!

Hey everyone! Declaring my intent to join the LDJAM, solo this time.

Being super casual with it though. Using Gamemaker Studio 2, and audacity.
