LD 40 December 1–4, 2017

Thats gonna be interesting

So, i got programming-artillery. Not the best option, but i can make a game out of it. I am going to start now and wish for the best.

I'm in!

Okay, woke up a bit later than I wanted to but think i'm finally landed on a theme for this. Let's a go.

Still struggling a little

Having a hard time with this theme, starting to question my decisions but gonna persevere - definitely going to be a looser interpretation of the theme than some of the other projects going on but just going to roll with it now I think. I'd rather get something done than nothing at all!

Unity / Maya - FBX Exporter

If there's anything i've learnt from this Game Jam it's how damn useful the FBX Exporter package is when working with Maya and Unity (presumably 3DS Max as well). Not an artist by any means, but it's a really awesome tool and I highly recommend any Unity / Maya folks working today to check it out if they haven't already. Download it on the Asset Store and plug it in.

Takes a few minutes to get used to but will really help speed up your workflow.

WebGL is ruining my day

When building for WebGL in Unity my game is developing a bug where the physics seems to get completely stuck and force the car in my game to go backwards all the time... Only happens in WebGL.

Gonna be a fun fix...

Carchery Released!

Okay so it didn't quite go as i'd planned and I went a bit loose with the theme but here's Carchery. A hybrid driving / archery game.

Carchery - Action 2.png

Had some issues with WebGL so the build is a little rough. Just happy to get something out at this point! Definitely room for improvement here but I had fun making it.

Feel free to give it a go below! WebGL only at the moment but i'll hopefully get a standalone build up and about after the Jam ends (tomorrow or something).

Play & Rate

I need more feedback about my game "Survival Quiz". I want, if you have the time, that you propose questions that I can add based on memes or something else. And thanks if you test my little game. 😃SequenceInGame2.gif

                                        Hope you enjoy !

Shuffle Climber - An Endless Card Game/Platformer!

Will you ever reach the top?

We appreciate any feedback you can give! Also be aware that luck, like in any card game, can be unforgiving ;)

Check it out here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/shuffle-climber

Dungeon Solitaire (More like Platformer Solitaire)

I just think that if you like platformers and puzzles games you should really check my compo entry. Maybe not?

Anyway, finally got some free time to be posting this and also rating some games. Leave your love bellow. I mean... your links.

New Crux Swarm Post-Jam Version

0.4.0

All areas have been more or less completely redone, although the general shape of the world is still the same. * the world is roughly three times bigger than the jam version :D * some areas got some new art * lots of small bugfixes and tweaks * lots of new bugs I haven't discovered, no doubt

So that is pretty neat, I would say.

Also, I finally uploaded the vods to twitch, so you can watch the entire jam weekend from start to finish if you want to see exactly how I made some of this stuff.

That's quite an improvement over my last LD Compo!

And I even thought about skipping this LD because I didn't like the theme very much at first... Oh the irony.

In the end I loved it. Creativity ruled and that's always nice to watch, there were a lot of great entries. Thanks for everyone who rated and played my game. I guess now I'll have to keep working on this title and try to release a full game as I promised. Cheers guys!

PS: By the ratings I guess it's clear what I have to improve here, heh.

I'm in and ready to go!

I'm in! But as always when Ludum Dare begins something gets in the way and this time I have a bbq party in the evening 😑 At least I have also an idea for a game and I hope to finish prototyping it before going to the party

I use Unity, Visual Studio, Photoshop and BFXR.

If you want to you can follow me on Twitter (@dubgron)

Work into progress

It's the first Ludum Dare for half of the team so it will take some times for us to bring you news and pictures. But we are very excited and work hard to put some cool stuff in this jam !

There’s No Place Like Home

Finally!
This game took much more effort than I anticipated! A lot of mistakes were made but holistically I think I did well.

It's hard to tell which part of development was the toughest but this jam has shown me why I hate Unity.
But don't get me wrong. Unity allows to make really complex games in a short period of time which is a blessing at game jams. On the other hand it's poor structere irritates me and encourages to do lazy programming which I also hate.

But enough talking about game engines. It's Ludum Dare! It's about games not enignes!

So may I present "There’s No Place Like Home"

The game is about an astronaut who fell out of a spaceship and his last desire is to die on his home planet – Earth.
I hope you'd like my game. And if you do, don't forget to rate it!

I'm to excited!!! 30 minutes left

Way to ready tecnicly my 4th but i didn't get anything done last time Gona think small and gona make smal Don't realy have a lot of time but will work around that!!! and make an amazing game!!

Goin for Compo!

Already setting up everything for yet another Ludum Dare! I probably won't do much today besides from brainstorming on the theme.

This time I'll try to stream everything at https://www.twitch.tv/lexmelotti. Feel free to join me but be warned that the content is probably going to be in Portuguese (BR).

Never done this before, but I've been watching @honest-dan so much on twitch I got motived to try this out! You should certainly check his channel at https://www.twitch.tv/honestdangames.

I'll be using Unity and whatever else I get at my disposal for creating assets. Paint.net, Inkscape, MagicaVoxel, Bfxr, BoscaCeoil and Audacity are probably going to be my tools for that.

Sacrifices in the Cat Yard

Yay! Finished in time for Compo! I know the game is quite simple but it's just as I intended. Recording audio, making sprites and everything all by myself is quite challenging (but I love it). This time I even had time to make some polishing! I'm really proud of myself.

Oh, and this time I was streaming everything! Great success!

It's late now and I'm eager to have a shower and go to bed. Tomorrow I'll start rating some games.

Congrats for all Compos and Keep on Rolling Jammers, 22 more hours to go!

I'm in again

Here we go again! My third ludum dare, and I hope this to be the first one I’m able to finish! I will be using Unity3d and photoshop. Trying Compo this time.

I am in again for the weekend compo

Barely finished life tasks I had to do on friday, now its Saturday morning and I am here like...what tool am I gonna use anyway?

Goals: - Make something finished, short and weird, I cant do a proper movement controller anyway - Own art - photos? - own audio - my mic sucks so probably gonna go with synths

Tools:

  • engine ?? Unity/Twine/Bitsy based on the idea
  • Audiotool/ beepbox
  • camera/ online pixel tools

as unprepared as possible, but happy to be here again!
