Since I only have until tomorrow night (EST), I'm only going to be making something quick.

My game is about a little mutant (if I had more time I'd add multiplayer) that goes and picks up junk that he then tosses into a junk generator. Doing so will generate power, while playing this power will be running out fill out its orders to stay alive.

I haven't really got much done tonight, but I did have a hilarious idea for a game, although it is fairly controversial. In this idea, you are a grandfather who just woke up from a 100 year nap to realize his worst fear imaginable: men no longer have power over women and the genders are now equals! Your goal, of course, is to reestablish the patriarchy by berating women, empowering men, and getting our great president to sign a bill to reestablish the patriarchy.

I'm not going through with this idea (although I'm almost certain I'd net a bunch of points for humor), but I figured I would share my idea so you can tell me just how badly I'd get hounded for it.

My partner and I picked an idea and he's been doing the basic programming so far. I was waiting to see if our idea changed, so now that I know it's solid I'm going to start on music. I'm super psyched since this is only my second LD. Good luck everyone- may the creativity flow!

The first scene is almost complete! Just need to add a background to it and it's done! It contains the Donut, M&M and Candy Corn(you). The Donut is trying to wake you up and the M&M will wake up every M&M, while the Donut will wake up the Lollipops and you will wake up the Candy Corns because the enemy is right on your base! This is a sentance no one would ever thing to put together, I'm sure of it!

It's time to get to work. When I saw the theme, a few ideas popped up...

I'm working on my game since 4 hours now (a bit less because i've taked some breaks). Aaaaaaand... I think I've done 33% of the prototype with many comportement invisible in this gif but that are real. Proud of me for that !!

Something I did within an hour.

If I keep this speed I might actually be able to finish this before the compo ends!

Plasma balls, skulls, demons. That sort of thing. 3D is good but I can work with 2D.

Level sketches and game design is done. Time to get to work!

Came up with the idea to make a game about a hand cranked flashlight. Will be pretty limited in scope (as are my skills) but should be pretty interesting. I copied some boilerplate code from another project to get the game loop running and my goal tonight was to get the effect of a flashlight on a wall turning on and off. What you can't tell from the gif is that after the flashlight turns off, you have to furiously tap the spacebar to generate more light.

This is my second Ludum Dare, and I had an idea for a game since the last LD.

Maybe I can force things just a bit and make my idea fit the theme... Is it cheating?
