Wait !!!

The world is dying. Trees, grass, animals, everything is falling apart... Someone need to go to the Waktu sanctuary, on the eastern edge, near the end of the world. I am now too old to do it. But for you, the journey only begins...

I've Been Busy Being Dead - future of the game

Thank you all for playing and rating this game, Ludum Dare was quite a journey! It has shown that many-many things can go south in every unexpected way possible, and how important it is to receive and react to feedback. Especially since it is our first entry ever.

We've managed to finish this game and submit it just as we wanted, despite many things being left unimplemented due to the time constraints. But that's fine, right? Isn't that why this Jam even exists? It was truly delightful to hear so much suggestions and complaints thrown in our direction… Here is some stuff we're itching to share with you!

If you haven't experienced it yet, go ahead!

Is that Cubot getting some air time? We are having fun implementing new commands and making new levels, releasing Soon™ in a post-jam version perhaps? In the meantime, check out the actual jam release here! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/among-stars-and-robots

What do you want to do before LD48?

After each Ludum Dare I have some sort of ToDo before next jam. This time I have pretty huge plans, as I'm eager to: 1. Learn C++; 2. Learn 3D modelling in Blender; 3. Switch to 3D for game jams;

What do you want to do before next Ludum Dare?

Loopy Flight - The work has begun

First of all, congrats to everyone on participating and finishing a game in that short periode of time. I've played around and seen a lot of amazing games, with so many different ideas and original takes on the theme, my mind was blown and I really had a lot of fun playing (and still doing it, there are so much to see yet). It's so cool to be part of something that big and see what people of all horizons have come up with. So once again, congrats to everyone!

Then, thanks for everyone who played my little game. It was my first Ludum Dare, and I was blown away by the responses and encouragements. It was a really warm welcome and a lot of people also gave great feedback that is really helpful and actually motivating to push the game further.

So I've been compiling things together, came up with a plan, and started the work of improvement. I'm aiming to have a polished version to present after the results are out. I already started with the making the texts more readable, less pixelated, and also added the possibility to end the "dialogs" lines quicker.

The menu is being reworked as well, although more instructions about the game will also be added on that page pretty soon

As some of you may have noticed, the background city has changed. This is because I did not really like the previous one, and also because it was a bit distracting from the character. I've also adjusted its scrolling speed so the whole picture is a bit less nauseating. A remark that has been made several time was about crashing on the city. It was too high, and honestly it did not really make any sense so it has been removed completely, you can now roam through the entire screen (admitted no bird is passing through ).

That's all that have been done for now, but more is coming.

For the next version, hers's the plan: - Add more instructions on what to do on the menu page - Fix the spawning of ennemies / cloud. At the moment they are sometime a bit out of the screen. - Adjust plane rotation, so it's a bit more fluid and readable - Adjust the birds/cloud speed - A better scoring based on duration + clouds picked ups - Changing some of the assets

And for further versions, some of the features would be: - More type of pick ups - Some cool power ups - Possibility to shoot - Keep personnal high scores - Add controls for mobile devices

The road is long but this jam and the constant support was really a boost in motivation, and I hope this will one day look a bit more like a finished game! Thank you all for reading. If you haven't yet tried the game, you can find it here. See ya

Retro Games?

I'm looking for some "retro" games to play on my retropie (nes, gameboy, etc.). If you know of a good one, or you have made one, please comment below because I would love to play and rate it!

I made a timelapse for Loop City!

I recorded me making the game to eventually make a devlog / post mortem kind of thing, but I don't feel like recording audio so I made this timelapse. It's oddly long at >30 minutes but I think that was the most I could speed thigns up while still being clear what I was doing. If you guys want to watch it, here it is:

A new good tip.

In the Zero tab, there are many games of great potential that for some problem have not yet received their ratings, I highly recommend getting to know them, I made this art in honor, for a great game that is there. (@megalink) https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/aberration ludum_2.png

Just a game about collecting sticks and absolutely nothing else at all.
