Ludum Dare 47 October 2–5, 2020

Ouch

These are disappointing results. I thought I did better...

Ouch

Those results are disappointing. I thought I did better...

Minimum ratings given?

So, I have 22.5 "Ratings Given" and I think the minimum is 20. I have 35.8571 "ratings received" and next to "ratings received", there is a "Check" thing, which used to say "This will be rated", but next to "Ratings Given" there isn't and I didn't get the results either... metrics.PNG Does anyone know if is only is the server "lagging" and if I should have been rated? Edit: nope. Just the servers being laggy.

That's unbelievable!

Game results for this Ludum Dare are all absolutely mesmerizing.

Congratulations to winners - you totally deserve that recognition!

And our MonkeyVM even got 33rd overall and 25th in theme (across all jam entries), and one of the top puzzle games! I can't describe how I feel about it, makes me so happy.

Thank you all, especially @pov for organizing this jam!

How?!

How did I rank highest in audio when there is no audio in my game?

11th in Innovation?!?!??

And 75th overall? 😲

Holy crap, I'm really glad I tried playing around with a somewhat experimental idea :) Huge thanks to everyone who played my game! This really feels like good encouragement to keep exploring the idea-

http://twitter.com/gkgames for any future updates at and will try keep up with blog posts here as well!

Holy balls

I was not expecting to come 2nd in audio or 33rd in mood!! That's insane!

Thanks so much to everyone who played and rated my game, and the few people who supported my twitch stream.

I'm over the moon!

Congratulations everyone!!

I got 251st place overall, which I'm pretty happy with since this was my first ldjam!

But what really matters is that we all were able to make a game in such a short amount of time, it's amazing!

Congratulations to the winners and to everyone else!!

Congratulations!

Congratulations everyone! This was our first game Jam and we were really happy to participate, actually finish something and get ranked! For me it was a total shakedown of a 2 month old engine that I was crazy enough to try for the Jam! We'll be back!

HOLY SH-

I can’t even describe how happy i am now, oh my god... Thanks to everyone!

Ludum Dare 48: Coming April 2021

We finally made it. Ludum Dare 48. This will be our 48th 48-hour event. I should make a weird teaser trailer with a TAC-2 joystick or something.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o1JtEJbu5a8

Yeah, like that.

For those of you that like to schedule things half-years in advance, tentatively Ludum Dare 48 will be on April 16-19th weekend. Unfortunately I'm waiting to confirm a few things first, and they didn't quite come together in time, so I'm calling the date tentative for now. If that date doesn't work out, it will be the following weekend (23rd-26th).

Stay tuned!

Thank you so much for maintaining LD all these years! Finally submitting to LD nearly half a decade after watching participants online was a heck of a ride, from an unfinished attempt last semester to every week of on-and-off practice... all leading up to today. I wish I'd done certain things a little better with my game-- okay, a lot of things, really-- but nonetheless it was a joy to become part of this community and start networking with fellow developers. You can count on me being around for April as long as the Sun hasn't exploded yet.

I've never been so proud to have a participation award. :joy: See you in 2021!

Can't wait for LD48! The next 6 months is going to go by so slowly... now I know how to improve my time management! 😅

I want the next theme to be about that specific controller.

LDJam user 217144
29. Oct 2020 · 14:58 UTC

@supergamersgames you mean you want the theme to be "two buttons, one analog stick" or something like that? That would be really fun, it's almost like the limited controls of a NES controller. That had a D-pad though, and start/select.

@peace-of-cake-games Well, maybe make it an added bonus?

LDJam user 217144
29. Oct 2020 · 17:58 UTC

@supergamersgames it would be fun to make a game with just two buttons and an analog stick! I expect there would be a lot of NES-style games.

Was such amazing experience, Our teama published the game to Google play and now it's available to download it on https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.loopin.loopIn

Thank you whoever played Cereal Killer and found it entertaining :) Yahoo.png

Woah.

I don't know what even to say. 37th overall and 18th in humor is WAY more than I ever expected for this Jam. This was my first LDGJ that I was actually able to submit to and I was only aiming for top 500 at most. Thanks so much for anyone who rated my game during the jam!
