Post-Jam Development

ldemgooploop/empreview2.gif

Continuing the development of Goop Loop if you want to tune in on Twitch! https://twitch.tv/jitspoe/

What?

Seriously, who rated me terrible in Theme? I didn't even hit 3.5 despite being one of the developers with a game most dedicated to the theme.

POKKO results

This is the best results I get in a Ludum Dare game that I worked on. I'm proud of my teammates, they did a great job especially on visuals.

LD47 Results

This is amazing, my best Ludum Dare results so far. I'm glad you enjoyed my game!

I have been contemplating whether I want to make a post jam version with better AI and higher difficulty, now I'm probably going to do it :)

ld47emresults/emsmall.png

Got an okay rank...

But I'm definitely happy with my game Tempus Locus! Thanks for the all the feedback folks, and see you in the next LD!!!

LDJAM 47 Results!

FROGS_ThanksForPlaying.png

These are the results for my entry "FROGS Training to be Heros (In a large 'wheel-thing')".

I had a really great time creating this game! I am glad it did 'pretty good' in the ratings. Someday I hope to tell the larger story of these frogs, and their world... But, it will probably be a long time, if it ever truly happens.

Anyway... thank you for playing!!

HEY WINNERS!

Going through the results page is a pain. HEY FIRST PLACE JAM WINNERS! POST YOUR GAME LINKS HERE! I'll be making some art for the winners.

(EDIT) I mean all categories, not just Overall.

The best NES game on LD47 - now with some post jam fixes

ouroboros-6.png

"Best" because it's the only one, haha. Still, it almost reached 100th in Theme:

ld.png

I've released a post jam version at https://wendelscardua.itch.io/ouroboros following some feedback I got during the event.

Changes: * Using more "evil" colors on all enemies, to make clearer that all of them must be avoided * Background shaking + SFX during collisions * Music (and unfortunately SFX as well) changing more smoothly depending on remaining time

My TL;DR Post Mortem for the jam

Results are in!! WOO

Results

Did not expect at all to go well on Theme category, nor Humor as a close second!

Was shooting for above 500th Overall this time, got very close! All other categories got above that (except Graphics and Mood, understandably).

Game itself

Finally found a scope I'm happy with: Easily made mechanics with tons of content! Full but short story, game with an ending.

Extremely proud of final game and player feedback! I got the exact reaction I was hoping to achieve.

Burned myself out on day 2 for not using day 1 for all I could. Tried really hard to make it to Compo but fell short by a single minute.

Loved making music! Had never done it for a jam before, but it's a nice change of pace, and makes my game more unique.

Post jam

Most likely nothing (as per usual)

If anything: Extra inventory slot, playable tutorial (both player suggestions) and Portuguese translation.

Next jam

Anyway I'll probably keep doing this jam every time, until the day I die.

Next time, expect a game with same scope, if not better. Maybe I'll bring in an artist? Who knows.

Also next time I'm trying for the compo again! Maybe actually doing it too!

Big thanks to everyone who played my game and helped me out during this jam, and congrats to all who participated!!

I gave it an honest try. :)

Thank you to everyone that played 'proceed' and gave me your thoughts on the game! It's been a wild ride.

I was also shocked to find that I scored 37th in Mood! The Manager would like to personally thank you all for appreciating its spooky demeanor.

As for every other category... eh, let's just say I learned a lot. I made a good number of mistakes along the way. :joy:

It's been a blast jamming with the LD community, and I look forward to seeing you all in mid-April for another go-- one that hopefully involves less cancelled projects and torn hairs.

I also want to congratulate @drunkardwolf for a MUCH deserved 35th place Overall and 4th in Mood, not to mention some rather impressive Theme/Graphics/Audio scores to boot. I absolutely loved your game entry. You TOTALLY earned it... I ain't even mad! :joy:

In the meantime, while slightly behind schedule, I still fully intend on the Manager's return in 'precedent' (working title)-- a fully fledged prototype starring a new character in the cryptic Subreal Realm.

Since I'm a big fan of both creepy audio AND teasing things that aren't even nearly close to being ready, here's a little sneak peak of the upcoming Dread Fence zone and the latest n' greatest in creepy failure noises...

I know a good number of you have had your sleep schedules a bit off since this LD, so... for your sake...

(I formally apologize for the sake of any and all hurt by this dad-joke tier humor but claim no liability for damages.)

If you're interested, you can play my LD attempt at:

I've also written a little post-mortem of what the heck happened while I was working on it with a few alternative Manager renders, Sustained Notes concept art, unused sound files, and more, found here:

Okay okay okay, NOW I'm done. See you next year!

A Good Ludum Dare Year!!!

I have a confession to make; I really wanted to get 1st Overall again LOL

I got pretty close though :smirk: which is cool :sunglasses:

Thanks to everyone who played and gave me the ratings for these achievements!

Congrats to the winners, and everyone with cool new games!

SEE YALL NEXT JAM!

Thanks for a great LD!

Thanks for a great LD everyone, including Mike, Ludum Dare is just a blast!
See you all @ Ludum Dare 48!

Thanks!

LDScore.PNG

Overall, I'm satisfied with my results. I was able to up my overall average by half a star. I have a lot to learn and a lot of work ahead of me, but I'm so happy I was able to improve.

Scores...

So here are my scores. Shockingly similar to the scores on my last game, although I really feel like this game is by far my best ever Ludum Dare entry...

I am interested in what people consider to be a "3.5" game versus a "4" game. I personally think 3.5 is "approaching good", while 4 is "this is a good game in its current state."

So at this point I'm not really sure what I could meaningfully do to improve. LD47Scores.PNG

That said, 3.6 in fun is pretty good. And many of my scores are at least a little better than my last game. So I'm not toooo sad but I was hoping to get a 4. Although, I guess a 4 is really a very high score? So maybe I should be pretty happy with what I got.

Brothers, This is a True Tragedy

Yo yo yo watz up my main homoeroctuses, our slapping cuz over here didn't get the score he wanted. You wanna do smptn bout dis or wat?!?! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/47/troubled-mind-a-life-of-torture

Thanks for Playing!

Ballroom was a success!

ludumem47/emresults_concise.PNG

130th in humour and 140th in mood! Amazing. Thanks to everybody for playing and leaving kind comments with thoughtful feedback. It was a blast playing so many cool games!

Ludum Dare 47 is probably 2020's last jam for me. Probably. Here's a sneak peek at the year in review: my first year publishing games.

gameemjam/emresults_2020.png

The progress continues! Let's hope I don't get stuck in a loop so I can continue to improve through 2021. Stay tuned by following me on GameJolt and Itch-io.

Until next time!
