first time participating in the jam lets see how i do!!!
excited and nervous at the same time
Good morning, afternoon and evening!
It's our second time at Ludum Dare, and we think there might still be room on our team. Would anyone like to join us?
I'm a programmer, and a bit of a generalist. @666Savior does 3D modelling, and anything they get their hands on. Our third team member is a musician and SFX artist. We can do 2D or 3D, haven't decided yet.
Engine: Godot
Language: GDScript
3D modelling: Blender
Graphics and doodles: GIMP
CI/CD: GitHub Actions (yes, we will have automated builds!)
At LD46, @666Savior and I made Feed the Tree.

We enjoy being original. Good atmosphere, neat visuals, and satisfying gameplay are all very much our thing. There's always room for cute, too. We just don't do horrors ;)
Are you a graphical artist? A coder, writer, designer, modeller, anybody? Want to join our team? Let me know in the comments here, or on Discord: outfrost#5543.
Good luck everyone! :sparkles:
(reposted from earlier so folks looking for a team can see this among the inundation of "I'm in" posts)
Using:
Piskel
Gamemaker Studio 2 (not drag and drop)
Got no sound programs because i don't know how to sound and i'd rather get some experience before I drive myself insane with them in a Ludum Dare. Also hopefully not making anything too complex this time since no one understood how to play my last game.
First time trying this and I honestly don't expect to make a full submittable game (I have a busy weekend ahead of me and am also just inexperienced lol) but I'm here to learn :) can't wait to see what everyone makes and hopefully I can make at least something. Haven't decided between trying to raw dog it with SDL/C++ or to learn Unity on the fly for the jam (i know it's dumb but ¯_(ツ)_/¯ who knows)
Let's all do our best! ☺
RIP childhood heroes :cry:

First jam, I've been working on an engine and this is a good excuse to make more than some test scenes. ;) Tools I'll be using: - Blender - LMMS, Audacity - Gimp, Krita
This post made by open source gang
Leaning towards something that wouldn't be considered a true "game" and a bit more of a tool. Best of luck to everyone.
I'll be using:
* C++
* Unreal Engine
* Maya
* Photoshop
For anyone using Unreal Engine, I've made cheat sheets here:
C++ Cheat Sheet
Blueprint Cheat Sheet
Best of luck to everyone! Excited to see what everyone makes.
Starting early this time, counting down until the theme is revealed, which will be at exactly midnight in CEST land.
Long time developer just getting in to game development so this is my first game jam. I'll be using Unity but that's about all I know at this point. :fingers_crossed:
For some reason, the theme "Strength in numbers" reminds me of 2020's hit game, "Fall Guys" The hoard of jelly beans racing through a level guarantees that a few will survive, and advance to the next round.

I'm more exited and readier than before. I'm also eager to play other's games. My plan this time is to have a scope extremely small, if it works and have time I'll add something else. And then polish it with the rest of the time.
What I'll be using:
I'm aiming for the Compo, but since I don't have time constraints this time, is I don't finish it I'll take one more day ans send it to the Jam.

Now I'll just make my drawing of the day for the #drawtober while waiting for the time to arrive.
This time I'm entering the Jam with two of my friends. I'm excited to see what we end up with!
Good luck everyone!
Geez, it's here again, eh?
Meme Regime is back on the case, working with our same three members. Vanea is on programming, and she's a wizard Hexed is on music, and she's great at it And I'm on art duties. For some reason I might not actually be terrible?
Also, we have a new fella working with Vanea. They go by the name of "Gears4Speed", and we're super stoked to have them this time around. The bottleneck in the past has been closer to coding so having two programmers will make everything so much smoother.
We'll be using Unity, FLStudio, Mixx, Mixcraft 8, Paint.NET and Aseprite, and some assistance programs like WinSCP for some FTP shenanigans (namely for me and Hexed to deposit finished files directly into the game's assets folders) and Github for the wizards to sync their own arcane scrawlings.
Hopefully we make it into the top quarter of the event this time around!
In prep for the jam, I prepped a project scaffold based on my old projects. It ended up being a bunch game mechanics I think can be mushed together, but we'll have to see what I can do during the jam.
I made a video as part of a series demoing and reviewing my intent for the jam.
I look forward to seeing you all out there...or whatever the words should be. :v:

I think we're finally ready for some game jam action, we spent a good chunk of the morning getting our work environment cleaned up so we can focus. This time I think we're going to try to make all of our own sound effects. Maybe we'll get some time lapse of our development, too.
Good luck everyone, I look forward to playing what you make!
