Edit: Um, this is awkward, but I just left this account and made a new one. This is the link, in case you're interested for some reason: https://ldjam.com/users/inefficientchunkofcode/
Hello mah fellow human beings! This is gonna be my first game jam! (I'm so nervous... AND excited!).
Welp, I know I'm kinda late, but I'm gonna present myself;
I'm a 15-year-old girl who just begun learning how to do programming like 3 months ago (thanks to a website called Codeacademy). I have always wanted to be a game developer since I was little (even though I'm PRETTY BAD at actually playing videogames, but... that's not the point, is it? hAha...), but I only started now, because of everyone telling me "oH nOh u sIlLy KiD, tO mAkE a gAmE u nEeD a TeAm oF 300000 PpL aNd 4000000 yEaRz oF eXpErIeNcE!¡!¡!¡!¡¡ gIvE uP oN uR dReEmZ sKrEw u"... Don't ever listen to those people.
I wanted to challenge myself by entering this game jam. I don't even really know wether I'm actually gonna submit a game for this at all, but I still wanna have the opportunity to practice my programming skills, so here I am! (Wait, I can still join even though I missed theme suggestion round, right?... oh crap).
Stuff I will use:
Game engine: UnityEngine
Programming language: C#
Music synthesizer: FLStudio
For making graphics: ibisPaintX, artFlow, FireAlpaca (for cropping animation frames and stuff) and/or Unity's primitive shapes to create stoopid-looking 3d models yay
I'm gonna work solo, basically because of, 1) I usually enjoy working solo, and 2) I have no programmer friends and that makes me feel lonely help
If you're a programmer of my age, then it would be cool to have a talk!
Oh, and one question; Is theme slaughtering obligatory? Not really sure if I'll have time for that... Gonna try anyways lol.
Good luck to y'all!
...I hope this post isn't too long.
