With your feedback in mind, we've gone ahead and conjured up a more formidable necromancer—this one's a real wizard with the spells! Say goodbye to slow-motion levitations and hello to instantaneous rat-splosions! Our upcoming patches will include this snappy new animation that'll have you cackling like a witch brewing a particularly mischievous potion.
Take your chance and try our concept here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/blood-rite

Hey there, daring dungeon masters and necromancers extraordinaire!
We’ve been toying with some wickedly whimsical ideas that might just elevate your eerie escapades. Here’s a peek into the mischief we might stir up:
Fearless New Heroes: Imagine an eclectic mix of heroes daring enough to venture into your sinister lair. Wouldn’t that be a sight?
:knife: Pinpoint Hexing: What if you could curse your most annoying visitor with pinpoint accuracy? The possibilities are endless!
 Bloodletting Bonanza: How about a snappier, more visually striking way to collect that precious blood you so dearly love?
:smirk: Sinister Summons: Consider new summons that could change the tide of battle. Choose your minions wisely to counter those pesky intruders!
:nightwithstars: Endless Night Mode: Picture this—no more racing against the clock, just endless, thrilling survival... if you can manage it.
:dark_sunglasses: Dungeon Tweaks: Imagine fine-tuning the dark corners of your lair with some minor key layout and UI enhancements to keep things smoothly spooky.

We treasure your feedback; it enchants our dark hearts (really, we’re not just saying that!). Who knows? Your ideas might just become reality, shaping the future of our bloody gatherings!

What's poppin you necrotastic dungeon keepers?
As we're trying to clean up some issues our dungeons left us and collect new families of rats for your sake, we're also raising our budget for new heroes - meaning we're open to hero applications!
Here's the first application we received and one of the heroes that will try to raid your dungeon upon the next big patch:

It's a thief class hero which is skilled in vanishing in the shadows which will make it really hard for your skeleton friends to target. Also, since a lot of your precious feedback containt more challenge this hero will hit very hard but in exchange hold a very low health value. Furthermore, since our fellow necromancers seems to be a bit into feeling pain (not only the one of being alone) we're thinking of implementing some tasty poison or blood curses just for you!
With that said - Drop us an idea we might considering your Hero-Application!
Try it here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/blood-rite
Have a RATastic day!

Tired of playing by the rules? It’s time to go full mad scientist! In Monkepok, you’ll create terrifying, powerful creatures by fusing and experimenting with wild specimens in your secret lab. Splice together their stats, unleash your monstrous army, and crush anyone who dares to challenge your twisted genius. 💥🔬
Start with 3 creatures, evolve them into unstoppable powerhouses, and defend your research against enemies who want to steal your genius creations! Are you ready to prove who’s the true mastermind? 🧬⚔️
🧠 Play Monkepok now—where tiny monsters pack a punch!
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/monkepok
Hey there, fellow mad scientists! 🧪🧟♂️
It's time to fess up – how THICC did your monstrous creation grow?! 💪👀 Did you splice together the ultimate beast with stats so wild it barely fits in your lab? 🧬👹 Or is it still a cute little abomination that needs a few more fusions before it can terrorize your enemies? 😈
Let’s see who’s rocking the beefiest, freakiest Monkepok out there! Drop a screenshot if your creation’s been hitting the stat-gain gym or chugging down that EXP protein shake! 💥💀
Remember, sanity is for quitters. 😏 Keep splicing, keep mutating, and show the world who’s the true mastermind of THICC MONSTROSITIES! 👩🔬🔥

Try it out here: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/monkepok
We’re brewing up something wild for the most dedicated mad scientists: a Creature Dex that tracks every monstrous piece of your creations! Each creature in Monkepok is made from four parts — head, arms, body, and legs—and this Dex will record each piece you’ve encountered. It's your ultimate guide to every abomination you’ve stitched together!
But here’s the catch: some creatures and their parts will only be unlocked through currency or achievements. Think you’ve got what it takes to cath- eeeeeh... collect them all?
💡 What do you think? Would tracking the pieces of your creations in a Creature Dex make your lab work even more exciting? Let us know!
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/monkepok
(Mock - Will change during development)

Here’s where things get really wild haha: you’ve got 16 unique creatures, each made up of 4 distinct body parts—head, arms, body, and legs. But that’s just the start! For each of those body parts, you can unlock one of 8 possible colors. The result? A staggering 268,435,456 possible creature combinations and this is just the beginning! 🤯
From fierce to funky, every new creation can be a total surprise :D. Whether you’re building the ultimate battle beast or just concocting the weirdest combo you can dream up, the possibilities are endless!
💡 What’s your craziest combo idea? Dive in, start splicing, and show us your monstrous creations! 💥
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/monkepok

We heard your feedback loud and clear (thank u thank u thank u!), fellow mad scientists, and we’ll be rolling out some Monkepok madness for the Battle UI soon! 💥 Here’s what’s coming:
Bigger, beefier health bars! Watch those HP numbers drop like a rock in real-time! 🎯
Bye-bye, unreadable battle log! Let’s be honest, no one was reading that novel mid-battle anyway xD. Instead, we’ve gone full action mode and added damage numbers that pop up right above your creature’s head and the enemy’s. More explosions, less text!
CRT effect added! Because what’s better than a battle? A battle that looks like it’s happening on an old-school TV :DDD! We’re bringing that retro vibe straight into the fight screen. 📺
Large number suffixes! No more tiny endless numbers cluttering the screen—now you’ll see damage like “1.000K,” “1.000M,” and beyond, so you can focus on wrecking the enemy and less on counting zeros. 🚀
Get ready for battles that hit harder, look better, and explode with even more chaos! 💥 Let the Monkepok mayhem continue muahahaha >:D! https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/monkepok
OLD:

NEW:

Let us know what you think about us cooking!
To all our amazing players, supporters, and fellow devs:
Wow—what a wild ride Ludum Dare 56 has been! From day one, we went all-in with Monkepok, but it’s been your feedback, your playtroughs, comments, and love for the game that truly brought it to life. 🧪 Whether it was enjoying the retro graphics, diving into fusion chaos, or giving us much-needed insight into how we could improve, every bit of input made a difference - you made a difference!. We're very proud of what we achieved within 72 hours and were happy to see your fusion chaos even on some live streams and YT videos!
Your creativity and enthusiasm inspired so many of our upcoming updates—from buffing up the health bars and tweaking the battle UI to making sure you don’t need a magnifying glass to track your monster’s stats mid-battle. We threw in everything, including CRT effects and epic new backgrounds, to make Monkepok as fun as possible, all thanks to all of you.
We've additionally decided to add new systems as well: Save/Load, Material farming, Creaturedex, Achievments, Creature-Reconfiguration and Generator-Upgrades are planned for now! Not talking about the Gazillion new Monkepoks we're already cooking!
In the end we really wanna say it's been an honor to create alongside such a supportive community. Thanks to all of you, Monkepok has evolved into a chaotic lab of monster fusion dreams. We’ll keep refining and growing this mad little game, so stay tuned—there’s much more Monkepok madness on the way. Let's connect on itch.io until we define our steam page:
https://dekisenpaitm.itch.io/monkepok
Here’s to endless fusions, wild battles, and creating unforgettable monsters together! 🎉 Cause a dream wouldn't been fun without the people to share it <3
Thank you, and see you in the lab, The Monkepok Team

We're finishing up as much as we can in the last 5 hours, but I hope there are some ppl out there into card games :D

Congratulations, Agent. Things are going great, except for one tiiiiiiiiiiny problem: somebody is actively trying to hijack your signal, steal your data even worse they target your special "homework" folder. Naturally, this means it is time for a highly professional cyber showdown.
In ACEspionage, every match is a tense little battle of attack, defense, and pure tactical disrespect. Your goal is simple: protect your own Signal while tearing apart the enemy’s. Lose 10 Signal and you’re out. Disconnect the enemy first, and you win the argument forever.
The battlefield is split into 3 slots on your side and 3 on theirs, and each slot fights the one directly across from it. Which means yes, placement matters. A lot. This is not random button-mashing chaos. This is organized chaos.

You’ll build your plays using three card types: Surveil to pressure the enemy, Hide to keep your side alive, and Interfere to ruin somebody else’s day. Win rounds, improve your deck, unlock stronger modifiers, and slowly transform from “person with a laptop” into a full-blown paranoid cyber menace- basically a twitter hero.
Every turn is a small mind game. Every slot is a separate disaster waiting to happen. And every good decision feels extremely cool, and no we are totally not biased.

Our Game Page: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/59/acespionage
Where To Play: https://dekisenpaitm.itch.io/acespionage
And while you're at it, after you played, let us know what kind of card mechanics and modifiers you think would fit also into our game, since we think about expanding!
May your precious signal never get lost!

Agents,
HQ has received your playtest data!!
First of all: thank you.
Your mission was dangerous, highly classified, and only slightly ridiculous:
Protect your signal from an enemy hacker trying to breach your connection and access the most valuable digital archive known to humankind…
We know. Terrifying.
During the ACEspionage playtest, you bravely entered the field with only:
You Surveilled.
You Hid.
You Interfered.
You right-clicked with purpose.
You left-clicked with mild confusion, but eventually… also with purpose.
And most importantly:
Thanks to your playtesting, we learned what was missing, where we should apply some super-secret powerful polish, and what we definitely shouldn’t change.
We added additional sound effects to strengthen the overall old-school PC vibe.
We added a proper resolve state for the UI.
It already existed in the background, but you know…
Time.
We also added:

We fixed several smaller issues, including:
You can now click cards with both:
Because every agent deserves options.
We are eagerly waiting for your new mission reports so we can analyze the playtest footage and feed all suspicious bugs into a secure containment server named:
Definitely_Not_Homework.zipTo everyone who played:
Thank you for helping us test ACEspionage.
You protected the signal.
You defended your extremely important homework data.
You helped make the mission better.
Your service has been noted in the official agency records.
Unfortunately, those records were saved in the homework folder.
Sooooooooooooooooo, uuuh....
So since we already had fun with the send/receive mechanic in our game and how the interfere cards change the pacing in this regards— we decided to give multiplayer a shot and printed two basic decks out. The game became way more interesting this way!
Should we add a multiplayer to the game and release it on Steam 🤔

Please try the basegame here and let us know what u think ❤️ we‘re still some votes short 🥲
