Well, that took way longer than i thought it would to upload, but here it is, my timelapse!

I’m excited!
This is the 5th ludum dare i will be taking part in!
I will be using the following*:
IDE – Game Maker:Studio
Graphics – Aseprite, GoTile, SPArtAn, PyxelEdit
Audio – SFXR/BFXR
Music – Famitracker/MilkyTracker/Sunvox
Timelapse – Chronolapse
Misc – Tiled, Freemind
If I end up using any pre-written code, I will put a link here:
I decided to makemyself a little logo just for fun

I wish everyone the best of luck

*This list is an estimation is subject to change
ITS NOT SNOWMAN!!!
SNOWMAN CAN SUCK IT!

#NOMAN WINS!!!
-Flatgub~
So after 7 hours (1.5 hours planning, 2.5 hours ‘arting’, and the rest being spent of faf) i have this to show for it

A phone, the basic platforming physics in (albeit a little janky), a train background complete with wobble and train ambience
Now i’ve just got all the other stuff to add!
-Flatgub~
Its not as complete as i’d like, but I’ve got no time left…
Stage 1-1 is a game where you’re bored while you right the train, so you decide to play on your phone to pass the time.
Its a platformer with procedural level & enemy generation and the goal is to get to a christmas tree!

With custom setable seeds
Enjoy!

Really loving the theme so far.
I’ll be using:
Game Maker Studio
Aseprite
Sfxr/Bfxr/Lab Chirp
Sunvox / Milky Tracker
Tiled
Chronolapse
Freemind and ToDoList
Oooh-ho-hoo I’m excited for thiiis!
I’ll be using Game Maker:Studio for this, and I’ll post links if i need to use any of my base code

Mouse driven, tile based movement system works kinda, its missing like half the movements, and all the icons are placeholder, but it works!
I Wrote a flood based water system a while back, which i’m going to re-purpose into a lighting engine, and my understanding is that if I need to use external code, i have to make it available, so here it is. http://puu.sh/jKqEw/9ddd1c6396.rar
EDIT: Fixed link
Hyped as always~!
As per the usual I’ll be using:
IDE: Game Maker:Studio
Art: Aseprite
SFX: Audacity & sfxr
Music: Bosca Ceoil
Timelapse Chronolapse
(with possibilities of Tiled, SPArtAn, GoTile and/or FamiTracker)
Best of luck to everybody!

Wasn’t quite keen on the theme but I’ve got an idea so it should be alright!
Using Game Maker: Studio as usual, Aseprite for art, etc.

I’ve made progress on the game side and I’ve taken a break to work on some tiles for the first area.
I’ve worked with 3 colours per sprite before, but never 1.

Although the process of:
* Place tiles in Tiled
* Export map as image
* Load image into GM:S as background
* Place invisible colliders and markers over the tiles
* Play map
* Make changes in Tiled
* Repeat
Is slow and laborious, I quite like making my world!
Only a few “features” left to go before Its just tiles and world building that needs doing!
Looots of world building… >->
Assuming 75% of the map is empty tiles, that’s still 10,000~ tiles I need to place and mark…
Quite the undertaking ><
I can now place NPC markers on the map and it’ll create little speech bubbles when you stand on them!
It surprised me how easy it was and its all dynamic so I can add triggers in other places to change an NPC’s dialogue!

With the addition of basic spiders, The ‘mechanics’ side of my game is complete!
Now its time for sound, many many tiles and much world building!
Although I don’t think I’ll be able to achieve a map like Jet Set Willy:

I still plan to go quite large, with my current map 8 chunks by 8 chunks, or 64 rooms large, and I can always expand that later!

Here’s one more gif of the next room…
Producing these rooms is taking longer than expected so I’m just going to blast some out for a while.
I’m so glad I finally finished it!
Although its not the size I was aiming for, 35 rooms is still a fair amount for such a small amount of time.
Here’s a few random rooms i picked.

All it needs now is a win condition, music, and a menu!
I’m really excited for my 9th Ludum dare~!
I’m not quite sure what tools I’ll end up using yet, beside:
– Game Maker:Studio
– Aseprite
– sfxr / bfxr
– Bosca Ceoil / FL Studio?
Best of luck everybody~!
