I’m in

For the first time! I’ll be using Unity, Audacity and Blender/Inkscape/Gimp.

Growing Gertrude

Growing Gertrude progress so far:

The aim is to grow Gertrude, a simple amoeba, by eating smaller creatures and avoiding larger ones.. until Gertrude is big enough to eat the octopus and get the treasure it’s protecting!

Almost all the coding is done; I just need to add the end game states and menus (and tweak everything to make it more fun). Tomorrow, I’ll finish the coding and add SFX/music made with Audacity/LMMS.

Growing Gertrude!

This is my second Ludum Dare attempt and I’ve really enjoyed making Growing Gertrude. I hope you enjoy playing it!

You are Gertrude the amoeba. Eat those smaller than you to grow until you are large enough to take on Peanut the Octopus and steal her treasure.

Use the WASD keys to move Gertrude. You’ll need 4 of each creature to grow enough to eat the next.

Play and rate it here.

I added bubbles at the end to make it look more like an underwater scene, and would like to add some seaweed later. If I had more time, I’d also add levels of difficulty and improve the animations.

Critter Creator

This Ludum Dare, I worked with scriptwriter Gwenhyver Davies (@Gwenhyver) to create a story based game. We used Unity to program the game, pen and paper to create the artwork, which we then scanned in and edited with Gimp. The sounds we recorded ourselves were created with Audacity.

We came up with lots of good ideas that I might make later on – this was a really good theme – but for the game jam, we went with Critter Creator, a story and point and click style game where you create a critter to help you in your lab. Each decision you make changes the critter’s personality – be careful!

It was a lot of fun and a lot of work. I hope you enjoy playing it here ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-35/?action=preview&uid=56155 or on my website www.edgeofcode.com/critter-creation/

Proxima

Play Proxima, a resource management style game with a story: http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-36/?action=preview&uid=56155

Survive on a distant planet orbiting Proxima Centauri and fix your communication equipment to contact your spacecraft.

I didn’t have much time free to spend on it this time, but hopefully you’ll enjoy it!

Hi I think you wanted to click the attach link button when creating that post. Just pasting it will not lead people to your game. Have a great day and try “Bobby Bow”
