I’m in! (For the very first time!)

First time I’ve ever been involved in one of these new-fangled compos!  (Okay, so they’re not that new)  If anything, it’s an incentive for me to actually get off my rear and do something!

Was thinking something along the lines of a collection of 10-second minigames with a unified theme of some kind; I’m still mulling over what specifically to go for, though.

I’ll be using Flash CS5.5 and Actionscript (and possibly the Box2D libraries for stuff) on the programmy side,  and Photoshop CS5 for any artsy-fartsy stuff that needs to be done.  Not really thought about what to do with the sound yet, I only decided to join at the last minute!

Anyhow, good luck everyone; this ought to be fun!

I’m in!

I’ll be participating in the jam; this is my second attempt at Ludum Dare, and I’m hoping to have something actually finished this time!  Looking forward to (hopefully) getting my creative groove on, and seeing what everyone else comes up with!

This year I’ll be using:

  • Unity3D
  • Photoshop
  • 3DS Max
  • Bfxr
  • OpenMPT (If I have the time to make a terrible attempt at creating music.  Otherwise I’ll nab some royalty-free stuff!

Good luck everybody!

LD32

Alright, I’m in!

This’ll be my third attempt at Ludum Dare, and hopefully the second one where I actually submit something!  Really looking forward to seeing what this LD’s theme is; all of the options in the final theme vote options seem pretty interesting!  I’ll most likely be going for the jam rather than the compo (basically, it’s a matter of time), but I aim to submit something!

Tools I’ll be using:

  • Photoshop
  • Unity3D
  • Maybe 3DS Max, depending (Although I can’t help but feel I’m in distinctly a 2D mood)
  • Open MPT for music?  If I get the time to make some.

Anyhoo, good luck to everyone!  I look forward to checking out everyone else’s efforts!

LD33

I’m in!

Right, I’ve psyched myself up, and I’m just about ready to go!  I’ll be going for the jam, but if I manage to get everything done on time, including the music, I just might go for the compo.  Who knows?

Either way, Ludum Dare is the perfect excuse to get some drive going, and I’m looking forward to taking advantage of it!

Tools

  • Engine – Unity3D
  • IDE – Visual Studio 2013
  • Graphics – Depends on what I’m gonna go for!  Photoshop’s gonna be in there somewhere, though!  Perhaps Silo for modeling and Blender for rigging if I go down that path.
  • Sound – Music isn’t my strong point, but if I have the time, I’ll try and whip something up with Modplug Tracker.  Sound effects… probably SFXR.

Good luck everybody;  I want to see what you all come up with!

LD34

I’m in, I swear!

I promise I’ll get something done this time!  Honest!  I mean, I’ve got two themes to choose from, I have no excuses!  This time I’ll be using Unity3D (again), Photoshop and possibly OpenMPT for music.  As always, I can’t wait to see what all you guys come up with!  Good luck!

LD35

I’m in baby, yeah!

Righty-ho!  I actually quite like this theme… now if only I can think of something I can do with it!

For this one, I’ll be using:

  • Unity 5.3 with VS2015
  • BoscaCeoil for music (which I totally want to attempt to do this time)
  • Photoshop and Aseprite for visuals.
  • BFXR for sound effects (and maybe my own voice?  Maybe?)

Anyhoo, as usual, I can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!  Good luck, and have fun!

LD36

I’m in, baby! Again!

Hopefully, I ‘ll get something done this time!  Can’t wait to see the theme!

I’ll be using:

  • Unity
  • Visual Studio
  • Photoshop
  • Bosca Ceoil
  • Aseprite or 3DS Max, depending on how the theme is.

As usual, I’m mega-excited to see everyone’s efforts, and I wish everyone the very best of luck! Go everybody, go!

LD 41

I. AM. IN.

I am so in. So very, very in. So very, very, very in. I hope.

For this LD I shall be armed with Unity (as per usual), Photoshop and 3DS Max/Aseprite and Pyxel Edit depending on how I feel about the theme.

For sounds and music, I'll most likely be using Bosca Ceoil and BFXR, if I don't leave it too late!

Good luck everyone! I can't wait to see everyone's efforts!

Just a thing to keep in mind...!

It's difficult to imagine many gameplay genres as "incompatible" in this day and age, but don't forget that genres aren't just restricted to gameplay styles; genres can relate to narrative themes, too!

IT. IS. DONE.

Finally, I finished an LD for the first time in years! There's a few loose ends here and there, and as always, I'd have liked to have done more, but I'm just happy that I have something to share.

Fishing ain't so easy when you have to chase your catch. That's right - I mixed fishing with an infinite runner! You know, the thing with combining two incompatible genres is that... it makes them compatible. In retrospect, this doesn't seem like such a weird idea.

Still, feel free to check out the video below, and to visit my submission page:
