I’m in!

Nothing like jumping in with both feet! I’ll be entering LD 22 and it’ll be my first. The tools I’ll be using are most likely to be some or all of:

  • Java! Yay!
  • IntelliJ Community 11 – my favourite IDE.
  • Paint.NET – graphics and generally a nice image editor.
  • SFXR – I’ve not used this before but it looks as though it’ll be useful indeed.
  • JBox2D – if I decide to throw physics into a game I’ll probably use the Java port of Box2D.

I think the things I’m most concerned about are the sound portions of the same, as I’m certainly no musician, and actually packaging the game and publishing it so people can play it easily. I’m not too keen on apps but they are quick and easy to do..unfortunately I don’t have much experience with them being a “desktop Java” programmer by trade. We’ll see how it goes I suppose.

And as a side note for myself, it’ll be nice to start a game project and actually finish it for once. NO REDDIT FOR YOU!

LD24

I’m in!

This will be my second Ludum Dare 48, so here’s hoping the theme is a good one.

I’ll be using Java with a few libraries if applicable, namely LibGDX, lwjgl or Slick. Content creation will be done using Paint.NET or various online tools. Since my previous LD48 entry didn’t have any sound I have no idea what I’ll do in that regard…I’ll think of something!

LD25

I’m in!

I’ll be entering Ludum Dare #25 and using the following:

  • Java
  • Paint.NET – http://www.getpaint.net
  • libGDX – http://libgdx.badlogicgames.com
  • Liberal quantities of panic coding

I think instead of hosting my game as an applet, a format despised by many, I’ll package it as a .zip using a launcher and JRE appropriate for the platform. It’ll be a larger download but it’ll save anyone from installing Java on their system or in their browser. Bring on the 14th!

LD26

I’m in!

After failing to do anything in the last Ludum Dare, I’m hopefully going to be able to do this one. Time will tell, though.

I’ll definitely be using:

  • Java 7
  • libGDX and/or LWJGL

The rest will depend on what idea I go with.

I really hope Potato doesn’t win.

LD28

I’m in!

Time for another Ludum Dare, which may be partially interrupted by something called an “xmas party”, but I presume one takes their laptop to such an event.

My tools for this LD48:

  • Java
  • libGDX
  • Paint .NET
  • Pixexix Pro (yay LD offers!)
  • IntelliJ
  • launch4j
  • Many, many cups of coffee

See you at the finish line!

LD29

I’m in…probably!

Hoping to participate, other commitments allowing. The usual tools:

  • Java 8
  • LibGDX 1.0
  • IntelliJ
  • Paint.NET/Inkscape/Spriter
  • Whatever audio tool I have installed
  • Endless coffee

Commence creativity!

LD30

I’m in!

This time around I’m most likely in. Woo!

My recipe for this Ludum Dare includes:

  • Java
  • LibGDX
  • Usage of various online graphics and audio utilities, along with Paint.NET or similar.
  • Liberal amounts of coffee.

I hope Alchemy wins the voting, but there are a number of good themes so it should be good whatever wins.

LD31

In!

I’m in! My first attempt using Phaser, as I’m fed up of having to package OS-dependent releases for a 48 hour competition.

Good luck everyone.

LD32

I’m in! (I hope)

Pending a go/no-go for a visit by relatives this weekend, I should be in.

No idea what technologies I’ll be using, so the game will no doubt be simple. Perhaps something JS flavoured this time.
