Moved over from SVN to GitHub: https://github.com/CrustyCode/

Using my Java Engine and Util libraries again.

Hoping to do as well this time as I did last time (21st in fun category, 32nd overall).

LD25

LD25 – What am I using?

Programming Language: Java

Libraries:

Small Java game engine that just gets the repetitive, framework stuff out the way: https://github.com/CrustyCode/CrustyEngine

Utility library: https://github.com/CrustyCode/CrustyUtil

I’m still editing and adding useful things, I’ll do a push to GitHub before the compo begins.

I’m still using Java2D for displaying graphics, I really should learn something new.

IDE: Eclipse

Graphics: Photoshop/Paint/ProceduralGeneration

Sound: sfxr, maybe some FL Studio + MIDI keyboard if I’ve got time

EDIT:

I’ll be stealing wee bits of code from my old projects which are all online at http://178.79.136.94/files/

LD25 – Run out of time!

I wasted a lot of time on engine stuff that should have been completed before the compo even began.

I seem to do this every LD. Oh well.

I’ll continue on with my game until it is finished however, possibly entering it into the Jam!

You’re not alone in this matter :)

LD27

Ludum Dare 27 – Oculus Rift

Skipped a couple LD’s, but I’m back for #27!

This time I’ll be using Unity which I’ve never used before, but I’m following the Unity StarFox tutorial by PushyPixels to get a grasp on it.

The game I create will be built for the Oculus Rift. I don’t know what the theme is yet, but hopefully it will be accommodating for this platform. I may also be using the Razor Hydra, however, for each peripheral I use, less people can play the game (how many people have both a rift and hydras?).

List of tools:

  1. Unity – for glue.
  2. Blender – for modelling.
  3. Photoshop – for textures.
  4. sfxr, piano, FL studio – for sounds.

Did you know Oculus is hosting their own game competition, with a prize of 50,000 dollars? I think it would be pretty cool to see all the entries. I’m glad that these Quick-Make-A-Game comps are spreading. Anyways, Good Luck!

Didn’t finish – But will keep going!

I didn’t finish in time for the main event, or even the jam – but, I will release a playable demo at some point in the future.
