LD34

I’m in!

Like technically I have some stuff going on this weekend,

but gonna give it my best attempt! ‘v’

  • Game Maker
  • Photoshop
  • Paint tool Sai
  • Audacity
  • General sorcery

Cue Janky Placeholder art

So, like, so far my game is about being a bear and going about your business.

I’m going about it (so far) with 2 button controls! A ‘move’ button that progresses bear

along a path, and I’m working on how the ‘interact’ / ‘attack’ / ‘shoot’ / whatever button will work.

I’m in!

I’ll be doing Ludum Dare this time, using Game Maker Studio, Photoshop, Paint and Audacity.

Mummy’s Boom Day 2 Progress

This game is so dumb, haha.

I’m just using placeholder graphics still, so I’ll snazz it up eventually. The finished game will look somewhat like a classic gameboy or handheld LCD game.. I have the basic game down now, just tweaking and soon I’ll start adding graphics and more finesse.

Mummy’s Boom Update #2

Welp, I now have the basic engine and gameplay down for Mummy’s boom and now now building the levels / transitions and extra junk. I’ll replace the placeholder graphics and add fun retro sound effects tomorrow.

So far, this game is much more of a .. game than my previous entry. It has sort of evolved into a puzzle game, which is fun and unexpected. It will undoubtedly have lots of bugs, but I’m probably just going to include a ‘reset level’ button just incase anyone gets stuck in a wall or whatever.

Onwards to more levels!

Mummy’s Boom – finishing level designs

Another little update.. still on placeholder sprites but finishing up the last couple of levels.

The game is set on one of my favorite pieces of “Ancient Technology”, an LCD Handheld game..

also it’s about ancient egypt.. sort of..

Ludum Dare 37

I’m (Most likely) In!

So I’m back I guess for my third solo entry and my fourth entry overall.

This is a crazy busy week for me (I’m moving soon and I have a lot of freelance work to

finish) but I’ve been improving my game-making abilities lately, so hopefully I can find the time.

Tools:

  • Gamemaker studio pro
  • Photoshop
  • Paint tool Sai
  • Audacity

My goals for this Compo:

  • Make music and sound effects! (I always run out of time for music)
  • Make pretty but economical art
  • Make something scale-able (that is easy to design additional levels for)

ARGhhghghh (Almost done a really ugly, working prototype)

So, I basically have a working game at this point (almost)?

This is definitely the most like, game logic I have done for LD game so far. It really doesn’t look like much, but I’d like to have most of the basic gameplay done before I move onto art and assets.

I’m going to make a to-do list for tomorrow, then go to sleep. Goodnight, LDers.

DINOSTRUCTION Update

Hello LDers!

I have made really good progress today and have the bones of my game done.

Now it’s replacing the palceholder graphics, refining the stage and refining the scaling difficulty.

THE TOILETS!

I may have messed up my spawn ratios…

Anyways, dinostruction is going well. Just making tons of different smashable items now to fill the house.

Should have lots of time tomorrow.

LD 42

I'm in!

It's been awhile, but I'm in! I was on a pretty solid LD streak (3 in a row), but now I haven't done one in over a year, so this should be fun.

I'll be using either Twine or Gamemaker Studio depending upon what idea I have for the theme.
