When we designed Hatching Dragons, we had few goals in mind. One of them was the bow drawing mechanic, that would be basically the core of the game. But we didn't want to go for a mouse aim/twin stick shooter, so we dug deep into our memory.
Back in the days when indie and freeware was basically the same, there was this game called Bulánci, which become a legend here in Czech republic. Everybody knew it, there was no LAN party without at least few rounds of Bulánci, no school break without four people on single keyboard playing Bulánci deathmatch.
So that's where we took the inspiration for four directional movement style, that allows for interesting, though not very common gameplay, and also for some brutal PvP. Shame we didn't have enough time to finish the PvP mode, but the foundation is there, so maybe a post jam version can improve that. Let us know if you're interested!

In case you're interested in Bulánci, you can find it here https://www.bulanci.cz/ (turn on your browser translator, the website seems to be czech only) You can then tell us if we managed the movement to feel right!
