I’m IN!

w00t! My first Ludum Dare.

Going to be using C99 with SDL and OpenGL. Going to use lmms for audio and gimp for graphics.

After failing to complete my last ludum dare, I’ve done a lot of prep this time round and I learned a lot about my previous failures. I’m hoping to get a game finished this time around.

The tools:

  1. Game Engine: Flixel
  2. Images: gimp
  3. Audio: sfxr and lmms
  4. Time Management: Pomodoro

To better success this time round! W00t!

I’m going to upload my base code here before the contest starts, probably just a splash screen and an empty game state, ready to get started.

I can vouch for the Pomodoro time management technique, It helps you stay focused.

Flixel Base Code

Posting my base code, and this is what I will be developing from for the weekend’s competition:

https://github.com/df3n5/LD23

At the moment it doesn’t do much, there’s a splash screen, a simple play state and a credits screen. I’ve included the Box2D source in case I use it.
I will be making changes directly to this repo as the weekend progresses, for anyone interested.

This will by 2nd ludum dare. Last time I had a learned a lot and had a good time, hoping this time it’s more of the same.

Tech I’m going to use:

  • OS: linux
  • Engine: zoetrope (http://libzoetrope.org/)
  • Art: gimp
  • Sound: Audacity, zynaddsubfx, rosegarden, bfxr

Setup a github project with all my code ready to go : https://github.com/df3n5/ludum_dare_26

Hoping to do Ludum Dare this weekend, got my base code up on : http://git.9lines.org/9lines/ludum_dare_30

I’ll probably be using haxeflixel, gimp, tiled in my game.

Good luck to everyone taking part!

So this Ludum Dare, I’ve decided to use some tech which I have not used for a proper game before :

  • Engine: libGDX with Scala
  • Music: MIDI Keyboard + fluidsynth
  • Sounds: BFXR
  • Sprites: Inkscape

Never used libGDX before but I have thrown together some base code here : https://github.com/df3n5/ld32

Best of luck to everyone involved, I hope you all finish your games.
