Hi there,
After few years break, lets do an other attempt !
Still with HaXe, h3D engine and … i’ll see later for graphics&sounds tools
Good dev to everyone !
After a looong night (started at 11h this morning, French time) I decided among the 3 possible ideas which one I’ll prototype about lunch time.
So far I’m having fun. The game can be described as simple as : make a Monster contamination.
You’ll be a character in an office, but look quite as a normal person. Simply because you’re a bactery inside a normal person. That makes you a dangerous monster, because you NEED to emancipate to survive. And to do you need to contaminate everyone in the office, before they can go out, scream and warn authorities.
This is the very very first time I do an attempt at graphics art. This is the reason why it might looks quite poor to most of you, but represents quite some fun to me
I need to do more gfx now, the code being quite correct so far and the gameplay already fun !
Yes the game is taking shape but… well I’ve spent way to much time on the gfx export process…
I’ve lost lot of time drawing, which was planned since I’m not used to it, but exporting was expected to be much more effective.
Currently the process I have it :
* Draw thing into ASEprite. Export features are way too poor.. at least on the macOSX version
* Pack all that with TexturePacker
* Create the level with Tiled
* Import all of these assets into the game
The cool thing is that I’m almost done with that, and I will be able to make real levels pretty soon.
Monster Hide is now available to you, dear lumdumdare testers !
As a developer, I’m very very now to graphics stuff, at least doing them myself. But I think the gameplay is quite fun, let me know about it !
About the process I used during the development :
I’m sorry for the lack of sound and some of tiles are quite terrible, but I’m now confident to improve myself for the next JAM.
Have a good monster journey =)
Good luck for the rest of level design.
