I'm In!
Hey there fellow Jammers! I am officially in LD38! For this LD, I will be trying a new program for my game, Construct2, along with my standard Piskel for the art. Good luck everybody!
Hey there fellow Jammers! I am officially in LD38! For this LD, I will be trying a new program for my game, Construct2, along with my standard Piskel for the art. Good luck everybody!
Here we are on day two! I've got a stable idea, now let's start coding!
Just realized I never talked about my idea! I'm going for a speed-based platformer, where you have to reach the end and stop the shrinking before the world gets too small. Storyline is currently in the making, no cue what it'll be yet. I'll be posting more updates later, so look out for those!
Oops, forgot to get this in on time! Anyway, I'll be using Construct2 for code, Piskel for art, and possibly Jukedeck for some music.
After staying up a good four hours after the theme announcement, I have a base idea, AND a working prototype. So good so far, but you know how long some things can take.
Good luck everyone!
I have made steady progress and have gotten the base mechanics set up and functioning!
Green tiles give you one energy point, orange tiles take two, and white ones take 1 energy point. Gif: http://i.imgur.com/whioxgq.gifv
After a 1(.5?) hour break, and then another hour of tedious work, I have Level 1 of my game done. Everything's in place, so I just need more levels and graphics. Keep going strong everyone!

Well, it's not FULLY finished... more mechanics I wanted to explore, more ideas, and more levels. But it's pretty playable for the time I had available, and I'm really happy with it!
I hope you get a chance to try it out and give feedback. I used Construct2 for this. I've come a long way since my first Jam game using Scratch! :)

Have a great time! :D

I'm in for LD40 and not working solo for the first time! I'll be working with an irl friend, @SpicyHotSauce and we'll be using Construct2/3, Piskel for pixel art, something that's essentially MSpaint for bitmap art, and Jukedeck for music. Good luck everyone, and have fun!
Since last night's theme announcement, we've gotten a solid idea and some graphics for making a sample level. We expect to have a fully playable game by the end of the day, and then Sunday can be level design. For our main concept, think of an ancient burial ground that you, as the character, is robbing. The more items you have in your inventory, the more enemies and traps generate in the level. However, you have to collect three artifacts in each level, which will summon the boss. You use the artifacts against them and try to defeat them. If you succeed, you get to remove 3 items from your inventory, and move on to the next level.

These words are painfully true after going through with what we have so far. We're probably 99% done with mechanics for Level 1. LEVEL 1. That's not counting unique boss behavior or level design either. And we have 7 more levels planned. This isn't going to end well, but I'm not giving up without a fight. Keep trying everyone!
I am in for my 5th Ludum Dare! As always, my resources are going to be Construct3 (editor.construct.net) for coding, Piskel (piskelapp.com) for art, and Jukedeck (jukedeck.com) for music. Best of luck to everyone and I look forward to seeing your projects after the fact!
Since apparently it's (not) mandatory, let's chuck in a wallpaper for no good reason.
I'm ready for my 6th LD! Though the themes aren't great, I'm hopeful that we're going to get a good one. My tools are going to be:
Construct3 (Engine) Piskel (Graphics) Jukedeck (Music) IRL Samples and/or bfxr (SFX)

TENORMS is coming along rather nicely, with all base mechanics and half the levels done. Audio is still a huge WIP, and my pile of bugs is more like a termite's den, but other than that, I'm feeling pretty good about it! I expect to have a reasonable finished game by the time the Compo ends.

TENORMS is complete! I kept from posting status updates so it could be more of a surprise when it was released, so go out and try to best the wastelands!

...with TENORMS, an action platformer about a guy trying to get inside a nuclear power plant for no good reason. Will he make it? Only you have the power to help him! So please! Don't let him die by playing TENORMS today!

-Mathstr0
Disclaimer: He'll probably die anyway, but just play the game, OK?
Theme suggestions are open, which means LD43 is basically here already! I'm putting in some themes this time, so hopefully it doesn't suck. (Though knowing this community it will anyway)

I am in for my 8th(!) Ludum Dare. Now that I'm more polished with my engine (Construct2), I feel that I can spend more time on polish and less time on figuring out why stuff isn't working. This is (I'm hoping) going to lead to a more story based game with less struggling to figure out why the engine, say, only lets something work if you switch it with another event that shouldn't affect the other event at all.
Tools: Construct2 (Engine) Jukedeck / Boscaceoil (Music [Boscaceoil is for if I have enough time]) Bfxr (SFX) Piskel (Graphics)
Wish you all luck!
This isn't the most extravagant wallpaper out there, but I think it appeals to everyone's inner minimalist.
