Vice life

After so many years of only watching the competition I'm in.

All I want is to deliver a final product. I work alone with these tools:

  • Language: HTML5
  • Framework: PhaserJS
  • Graphics: Piskel
  • Sound: Dunno yet

Title: Vice life

Long story short: A decision driven game. The probability of event types and event solutions is determined by vices (drinking, smoking, social media, gambling and night life).

Short background: I'm 28, from Romania. I work as a software developer. I dream of creating games(serious games especially) and this is the second time I use Phaser, so basically I'm learning as I'm coding.

Good luck to all of you!

Here we go for day 2

After Day 1 I have:

  • main engine done
  • weighted answer generator done
  • main graphics done

Unfortunately i have 6 hours car trip today to travel back to my home town so I will use that time for creating content(cause I need a lot of content). This is what it takes to write and event(and I need to have at least 50-100):

screen 2.png

After that it remains:

  • random message system
  • end game screen
  • hopefully I have time for sound
  • adjustments and balancing
  • some simple graphic elements (parallax background)

I'm so close to finish this game for the Compo ... Fingers crossed. Screen 1.png

Almost ready for submit!

The game is almost over, I just need to add content(as much as time allows me). I'm tired and the 8 hour car trip made incapable to add sound to the game. I cannot believe that I'll submit my first game. I'm full of joy, no matter the results. :) Screen 3.png

OMG OMG OMG

My first Ludum Dare entry is done. I know it isn't much but I'm proud. I learned a lot.

...

I have no more words...

First time submit

It doesn't matter I didn't managed my time too well, the learning and experience I gained by actually working and submitting a game is priceless.

You can find my game here:

Good luck to all of you!

Feeling good

My first Ludum Dare was a good experience. Love the challenge and the community.

I tried not to complicate things as I really wanted to submit a game. I did this after watching the experience of others in the past event. It's a good idea for the first time.

I learned a lot these days and I'm still learning as i receive feedback and try other games.

If you have a couple of minutes to spare give it a try: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/40/vice-life

Almost done ==PongCraft==

Oh... I lost too much time doing other things this time but I'm happy with the restults.

PongCraft is an Arcade-Strategy game where the purpose of the game is to destroy the other's base. Pong mechanics are used to colect gold and wood. Gold is used to summon warriors and wood to repair base. It works two players or single player vs AI.

I'm trying to finish testing and balancing the game. Got plenty of time for that but again I don't have time for sounds, did a test and is annoyng AF. :D

What do you think? :D

It's done! I present to you PongCraft

My second consecutive LD is finished.

Difficult theme, basically requiring the impossible. :D

Had fun doing this game, and had fun testing it. I'm really happy with it

Done

I can’t believe I finished(ish) this game in such a short time while I was learning lua and Love2d(first time writing code in Love2d or lua) and also finally learning to do some audio(not so great but i’m proud)

Question

I seem to have a issue with some timers that are dependent on the framerate(forgot some dt) and some people may have issues with that(slower gameplay).

Is it ok to add a new build with that fixed or is it against the rules?

If you want to give it a go, here is my compo entry:

Rate and rate

I would gladly rate your game(prefer HTML5 as i'm at work :) ).

Progress, yey!

Freeing people stuck in the limbo. Screen 1.png

So close

Game is functionally done. It needs audio and some nice polish.

If anyone knows PhaserJS 3: I made my game mobile friendly and because "as far as i know" the resize of the screen, the ".on('pointerdown', this.m1, this);" have a different hit area. In browser everything is fine but when i resize the window the "buttons" are not triggered from the correct x,y position. Do you know a solution to this? Thanks.

Done

Done.

It's been a difficult LD because in my country the Easter was yesterday. But i managed to finish the game and pretty proud of it. Not polished and rushed audios but at least it works on mobile(with a small UI bug :)) ).

Good luck to all of you and good night!

Just a little request

Unfortunately, this edition was in sync with the most busy period of the year for me at work. Hopefully I can review some more games in the remaining 2 days. But i also need a bit of luck and help with 6 more reviews to reach the 20 mark. If you have a bit of free time here is my entry(is HTML5): https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/44/trading-lives I recommend playing it o mobile, seems more fun. :)

Late start

Late start because couldn't focus on one idea.

Got the main physics in place and a good portion of the graphics. jam.png
