I’m in woo!
First Ludum Dare for me. I’ve been dabbling with Unity but never got close to finishing anything so hopefully this should help me get a good balance of scope and motivation.

I have sketches of most of the assets I need plus the look of the sprites pretty fixed and 3 sprites ready to go
Animation is gonna be pretty hard as I’ve never really done it before
Also zero coding done so far
It is pretty stupid but it is something to put in there at least!
Changing the gameplay and graphics completely after half the jam + a lot of annoying bugs means that I didn’t get to make as many levels as I wanted, and there are a lot of more mechanics I wanted as well. Still very happy with it for my first Ludum Dare though!

I’m in! Using Unity for development and hopefully Octatrack and/or Bitwig for music. I got half of Sunday filled with stuff to do so gonna try and have something publishable by Saturday night, and just do some final polish on Sunday. Still debating 2D vs 3D, it’d be good to get some Blender training.

Woo! Got the look and player physics done, now I just need to add shooting + enemies + some cool boss or something

Super happy with how this turned out! I made a small adjustment to the steering this morning, though I quite liked the older version other people had difficulty playing it.
It's gonna be great!
I'll be using Unity, either 2D or 3D depending on theme
YEEEEAH I finished

Super happy with how everything came together
Looking forward to a couple of weeks of playing y'all's entries !

I still need a few more votes to be eligible, if anyone is looking for some HARDCORE SIMULATED DUCK ACTION I'd be very happy if you tried my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/38/ducktron
IT IS 9:34 A.M. SATURDAY YEAH
I'm gonna make a kinda Pilot Wingsy / Star Foxy game about flying and shooting enemies and harvesting their souls to get enough power to stay in the air. I'll probably start with the hovercraft code from my LD37 entry and spend most of today getting the flying/shooting/harvesting right. Finished some concept art already I have no idea how I'm gonna model this in Blender:

Ship needs some work though...

Let's see how this goes!

woo!
pretty good for 11:07 AM on Sunday...

I have sound effects done as well, now I just need to:

I should probably get to level creation soon...
Gonna be my fifth Ludum Dare (though I didn't complete the last one).
I am freakin' stoked! Previously I've only done the Compo but will be doing the Jam for the first time now since I got Monday off. It will be three glorious caffeine fuelled days.
Will most likely use these tools:
Game Engine / IDE: Unity + VS Code.
Music: Octatrack + some synths (picked up an SH-01A recently so that will likely appear), bfxr, maaaybe LSDJ and/or Bitwig.
Graphics: MagicaVoxel! I just discovered this a couple of weeks ago and it's amazing and super easy to use. Here's a ramen shop I made:

Also maybe PyxelEdit for any UI or HUD stuff I have to make.

Have fun in the Jam y'all
Have some basic graphics + level loading + movement + basic AI going!
![1 - Basic AI [GIF].gif](http:///raw/6b0/1/z/98e3.gif)
(movement is much smoother in the game though)
It's 2:45 PM on the first day of the Jam, so far this has gone super smoothly compared to previous jams
I have mostly ignored the theme and will do a mashup of NES Zelda and Bubble Bobble though, but I have some ideas to incorporate it in game and boss mechanics. If that fails I'm just going with "The more you have [EXPLORED], the worse it is"
Been kinda slow going since yesterday, but mooost of the gameplay is in place now and I have refactored the code to be pretty nice.

Need a couple more enemy types, some movement alignment stuff, and then get started on levels!

Every time I swear I'm not gonna stay up until 2 AM for the submission, and every time I still do it...
Pretty happy with the game though!
