Using pico-8 for my first ludum dare, also working this weekend so my game is bound to be terrible

A bit of a late start but I’m starting now, hopefully I get something playable by the end of the weekend. Making a game based on office life.

I wasn’t able to start in earnest on this Ludem Dare until a few hours ago but I’ve got a simple concept and a small working prototype.

Concept: You are a millennial hired by a big corporation as  their “Social Media Ninja/Guru” and it is your job to tweet and instagram all the fun and exciting things happening in your small and uneventful office.

Progress: Haven’t worked with Unity in about a year so progress has been fairly slow while I relearn the system. However, I have a moving character, some props, and an initial menu animation so I’m officially out of the blank canvas territory.

Next Up: Working out some event zones for tweeting to occur and time to try and wrestle with unity’s font system.

Joining the compo for the first time, looking forward to it.

Only have a little under 12 hours free this weekend, so hopefully I can make something at least playable!
