LD35

I’m in

First timer.  I have a custom C++ engine which I’ve tinkered with on and off for several years.  It’s never been available publicly until now, but I intend to put the whole thing up on github when I’m done.  I’ll be doing a 2D game this time around, though I’ve done 3D work in this engine before (and the whole pipeline for 3D is there if I change my mind at the last minute.)

Tools and libraries:

  • Developing on Mac OS X (but can and will build on Windows as well)
  • GLFW
  • YSE sound engine
  • Tiled map editor
  • rapidxml (Just for loading tmx files from tiled)
  • Pixen (maybe Pixelmator and gimp too)
  • bfxr
  • Emacs

Didn’t realize until last night that this was this weekend, and am coincidentally all by myself for the weekend too.  Scraped together a starter project and tools as fast as I could, so here we go!

This is my first LD as well and I will also be attempting to support multiple platforms with native binaries.

Space Shift

“Space Shift” has a spaceship and a bunch of shapes.  Shell screen is set up and it’s basically shippable now if I had to.  Still lots of stuff to do to make it better!

Ludum Dare 45

Done!

I'm sure if I just spent half an hour more I would have the best Ludum Dare game ever, but oh well, this will have to do!
