LD30

Hello LD

It’s my first time here so I’m keeping it very simple.

This is my setup:

Engine – Custom engine with Javascript + Pixi.js + sound.js. This one is designed for “top down” games, for now I’m avoiding any platforming and crazy physics. Let’s hope for a suitable theme and see where my imagination leads me.

Edition – Netbeans + Geany

Graphics – KolourPaint + Gimp

Sound – Audacity + libraries, when it comes to sound I’m a newbie. I can’t promise that the final release (if any) will even beep.

Wish me luck, but no expectations.

Language: Javascript with HTML5/CANVAS and PhaserJS

Graphics: KolourPaint + Gimp

Text Editors: Geany + NetBeans

SFX: bsxf.net

Wish me luck 😉

LD31 – Success

I’ve successfully finished my second entry for Ludum Dare Compo. Presenting: Fido, Fiona & Fidel, a maze/puzzle game.

QUATAM – PostMortem (Mini LD #57)

This was my first Mini LD, and despite all obstacles, I’m very satisfied with the final result. The idea of creating a MMORTS using AR and the capability of traveling backwards in time seemed far fetched, but in the end it all went very well.

The Good:

  • It went pretty well. It actually went so well that Google is now interested in buying it, go figure!

The bad:

  • Accidentally killed my past self, and now I’m painfully fading away. But no worries, I’ll just go back in time to stop myself from killing myself by killing myself and thus saving myself from being killed by me.
  • It is alleged that some players lost the notion of what’s real and what’s virtual, some even had to be hospitalized with advanced stages of dementia.
  • I might have broken the sole fabric of existence
  • Accidentally brought Hitler to the present.

Love all your entries.

Peace

I’m in! Suggestions for music tools please

I’ll be using PhaserJS, Kolourpaint, bfxr, and maybe other tools like Gimp and Pulseboy.

Besides Pulseboy, what other free tools do you recommend for generating cool gaming music?

Peace

My top 10 so far

Keep in mind that I’ve only tried nearly 200, that’s 7% of the total! So these are my top 10 favorites SO FAR. The criteria is simple: the games I’m about to list are those that kept me returning and even saving them for later. Here they are:

Concrete Jungle

The Almighty Spectrum

Nine till void

2 Growing Buttons

Super Duper Stacker Supreme

Left-leaning

RhythmRider

Slate

Litterlings

From the deep

Am I missing something? Say below,

…oh and by the way…

LD: The whole bunch

I don’t think I’m the first person asking this here or somewhere else related. Is there an online place, public, with all the LD games made so far, since the first event? I’m not necessarly asking for a game repository (although that would be nice), just a online database with the information of all games.

Thanks

The itch.io browser (ludumdare.itch.io) might be a better option since you can filter by platforms/rating/coolness/etc.

It doesn’t grab all platforms properly :c

that’s it, thanks

yes, it seems that some links are broken or don’t exist. But it will do 😉

Thanks for playing Ortogonalis!

Didn’t get in the top 100, not even the top 500, but my overall score got better from the last time, my game had almost 200 votes, and I have 100% in coolness, so it wasn’t all that bad. Besides, seeing what I was up against, no wonder why I have such low score.

Anyway, I’m happy to be part of this event, and next time, I’ll try to make a more beautiful game :)

Thank’s for playing my game, voting, and leaving your feedback.

Don’t confuse score with rank 😉

You’re profile picture and mood of the article are opposite, which made it really hard to read LOL. Great work making a game for Ludum Dare though. Keep it up and good luck next time :)
