Got chewing working! You can use your teeth to break the biggest food item in your mouth in two 8)

Started to add gas tonight, which gets in the way of you trying to eat food quickly. Soon, eating certain food types will cause gas production to increase. After that, I will add a burping mechanic to free up room 8)
8)
I got burping working pretty much on my first try. This will be something the player can do to clear out any gas that's clogging up room in their stomach. Also added screenshake when you bite into food. Bigger food = more shake.

Started to get the UI in. Set it up so that eating meat produces a lot of gas. Also added hard candy that is high-calorie and requires a decent amount of chewing. Also added the concept of protein, which comes from meat. Will probably be a point multiplier 8)

Added probably the last food type - grubs. Grubs eat away at the calories and protein in your stomach, so you don't want to eat them.
They're also small and can get whipped right into your throat, so keep on eye on the new preview UI that shows you what's coming!

I spent the better part of tonight hooking up a speed eating versus mode (in addition to single player), and polished up as much as i could. Gonna throw this on itch.io in a minute and call it a wrap 8)

Done & submitted. Give it a shot if you have a chance. Versus mode is pretty silly :D

I was having a lot of trouble getting WebGL to look good on itch.io yesterday, so I fixed that up and fixed up controller support so that it's easier to enjoy Versus Mode. Keyboard still works if that's your jam too

Second Ludum Dare for me. This time I'm making....
a worker management game where you have to lay people off every quarter to balance the budget. corporate periodically issues decrees for you to reduce your budget or increase productivity in exchange for bonuses, which you can use to buy tchotkes to decorate your office.
This art is hopefully not final (especially some of the UI lol), but some work in progress stuff to share -

I've mostly been working on setting up the simulation tick today. (randomly generated) Workers slowly become friends with nearby coworkers overtime. Having friends increases their morale. Morale affects their productivity. At the end of every quarter, all employees get a percentage raise as well.
I've also added special highlighting modes to pinpoint who your most expensive and least productive workers are -

Next up for me is adding the Quarterly goals you have to hit, then fleshing out hiring & firing workers.
I'm pretty happy with the progress I made, but it wasn't enough to finish this time. Some screenshots & progress updates anyways.

I finished up all the art today including the first-person office view . I'm pretty happy with it, but this was a a huge time sink lol

Hooked up a screen to hire new workers. you can also drag their desks around to easily reposition them.

Got a social map going so you can see who can be friends with who. Extroverts have a bigger bubble so they're good to have around so that everyone can have a friend in the office.

I got the Flymall catalog done. Pretty funny stuff. Idea here is that you earn bonus money for hitting sales targets or for cutting workforce by a certain percentage every quarter. You can spend that money to decorate your office with trinkets from Flymall.
got pretty far on this for ld48, but ran out of time. spent way too long messing with AI and getting the core concept working in unity.
it's an inception-like where you can hop into the minds of enemies. needs probably another 48 hours to complete :/
