LD35

I’m in!

This is my first Ludum Dare.

I participated in the last Global Game Jam and I had a lot of fun.

Also first time going solo, I just hope I’ll manage to finish something playable.

Will probably use Unity 5, Inkscape or Graphics Gale, sfxr and BoscaCeoil

PS: I have no clue about graphics and music, so…good luck to me 😀

LD36

I’m In!

Hi Everyone!

I forgot to mention that I’m in for my second LD, this time in the Jam with a friend!
Good luck to all, I’ve seen a lot of nice previews so far :)

LD 39

We're in!

After skipping a couple of LDs just because I completely forgot the dates, I'll be trying again in the jam with a couple of friends.

We'll mainly use Unity, Photoshop, and whatever tool our audio guy knows best.

Good luck everyone!

A little update on our project

As you can see we went for a dimly lit maze escape, but with a twist: a really weird way to control the light source (you'll see when it's done :D). Screenshot (105).png

This is our little guy: snap2.png

Music and audio are almost done, we're still missing some animations, UI, enemies and putting everything together.

We really hope you'll like our custom input method :D

Try out our experimental input method!

In Every Light Goes Out we implemented a new input method that requires you to point a light source towards your webcam, in order to enable your character light.

giphy-flafhlight.gif

As you can see it works with different types of light sources (of course it works better in the dark).

giphy-lighter.gif

In our game you have to escape from a maze before the limited amount of energy you have left to power your light runs out. Here is an in-game screenshot. Screenshot (118).png

If you don't have a webcam don't worry, we included a non-webcam version, but please know that the entire game is designed around that idea so the experience and the immersion will be affected if you don't use it.

Please try out our game and tell us what you think!

Grab a flashlight and enter our dungeon!

Hi everyone! If you haven't tried it yet I'd like to present to you Every Light Goes Out:

In our game you'll need to escape from a dark dungeon while you battery is running out.

The twist is: you can use an actual flashlight!

So turn off your lights, grab a flashlight or a simple lighter and light your way through the maze.

giphy-flafhlight.gifgiphy-lighter.gif

of course you'll need a webcam to use an external light source as controller, but if you don't have one you can still try the game using only the keyboard instead

Please leave us a comment so we can know what you would like to see in a possible post-LD.

LD 43

I'm in! (or at least I'll try)

After missing the last two LDs I really have to get back in the game. Unfortunately I won't be able to exploit the full weekend and I'm still waiting to know if my artists friends will join me, but in any case I'll try my hardest to create something playable.

For the tools I'll probably use Unity, boscaceoil, bfxr, maybe Abundant Music if I can't pull off anything decent with boscaceoil. If I'm gonna be in charge of the art too, I'll probably end up using Inkscape or GraphicsGale.

Good luck everyone!

PS: and since it's 2am here and I'm sleepy as hell, I'll see you in the morning!

Just completed "Follow Me"

Since I was working alone I wanted to participate to the compo. Unfortunately, my busy scheduled forced me to delay the completion. But still, the important thing is that I finished my game!

I present to you: Follow Me

A 2D platformer in which to overcome some impossible obstacles you'll have to sacrifice your people to create additional platforms.

Come have a look!

And try to reach the end with the most survivors.

It's 1 am here so I'm going to start playing and voting tomorrow after work.

A couple of bugfixes

Hi everyone,

after hearing some feedback I decided to fix a couple of very nasty bugs which were causing my players to be unable to proceed. Of course I left also the original version available for download so you can choose to base your ratings on that.

If you haven't tried it already, please rate and comment, I'd love to hear some more feedback :)

I'm in for the jam

I said the same thing last time and I ended up jamming alone but this time I should really be participating with a friend.

I've improved my C++ and learned UE4 since last time but with those compile times that's definitely not the best tool for a Jam for me, so again Unity it is!

Good luck everyone!

Is it starting to look like a game?

At the end of the first day, after having a really hard time coming up with something we liked with the theme, we have the first draft of the main character, along with some animations and the first draft of part of the gameplay.

We might end up with something playable at the end.

WebGL version added

Hi there, if you haven't had a chance yet, come try our game! I added a WebGL build (although I still suggest downloading it and using a gamepad (unfortunately the gamepad is having issue on WebGL so there you can only use Keyboard + mouse)).

Anyway, our game is a single boss fight and you have to combine items and imbue them with some of your life force (you are an alchemist) to transmutate them into an attack a shield or a cure.

Your goal? Bring down this big guy ↓ LD44-optimized.gif

Ludum Dare 53

What?? An online multiplayer game in 72 hours?

Yep.

Thankfully Unity made it was quite easy, I wouldn't have been able to do it otherwise.

SO NOW GRAB 7 FRIENDS AND CHALLENGE THEM TO A PIZZA DELIVERY RACE!!

Apparently the game is quite hard, but if you play with friends and you all fail I guess you can all have fun anyway :)

Download and play Deliverace now!

(I'm sorry there's no browser version, the network communication didn't work there)

Ludum Dare 56

We made it!!

After reuploading like 5 times because of small bugs and screaming at unity for spawning a compile error only when generating the build and at the ld website for requiring multiple refreshes to update we finally decided to be satisfied with what we created.

Behold Tara! Our first actual puzzle platformer!!

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/56/tara

ps: The webGL version is currently not loading and I strongly hope that it's because the website is overloaded and not because the build is broken :fingers_crossed:

Try out Tara! (HTML5 available)

This time we made our first puzzle platformer, where you control multiple characters at once.
Please come give us some feedback!

Planning on making more levels

The positive feedback we received made us want to expand our entry to a full game.

Please give us feedback and suggestions for additional environmental obstacles and new mechanics so we can make the most of this experience.

Ludum Dare 57

A game for blind people

TheWellGif.gif

In The Well you'll find yourself lost in a well, so deep that not even a sliver of light can reach you.

Play using only audio as feedback and try to escape to safety.

The following is actual in-game footage:

Oh by the way, the game is a 2d platformer, it might not be that obvious without visual cues.
