So I was looking at my stats for my MiniLD game and comparing them to my regular LD game, something felt weird about this:
MiniLD59:

Click to go to itch.io page! (This was posted early in the day so the views/downloads for today are comparatively low.)
LD32:

Click to go to itch.io page!
My miniLD game has way less time put into it overall, I spent 24-ish hours on it, while my LD32 game had around 30-36 hours put into it, and I won’t even get voting results for my MiniLD game.
Is there any way the MiniLDs could get some form of voting on them too? I feel like I’m missing out on stats…
I’m definitely in!
Probably gonna do the Jam again because I like the extra time 😀
What is DUPLICADE?
We want you to make one (or more) short, player vs. player games, 30 seconds, win or lose, just like last year’s BARFCADE, but this year, we want you to populate the outlaw flea markets of our minds with knockoffs and bootlegs of other games that are just weird enough to not get you sued.
Quote from the jam site on itch.io.
This jam was for local 2-player-one-keyboard versus games only, with pre-specified controls!
You can probably guess which game I picked!
Try and rate my game here, if you have a buddy around:

It’s also available on Gamejolt if that’s more your thing, here:

And now I think I’ll whip something together for MiniLD #62 while I still have the time! 😀
I’m in for the 6th time!
Will have to see if I go for 2D or 3D.
Unity/PyxelEdit/MayaLT
Everyone should buy an HTC Vive if only for Ludum Dare.
Seriously guys, do it!
Cavey's released! I'm tired.https://t.co/ABJBa9vHhZ#LDJAM #VR #gamedev pic.twitter.com/j0ns2p2bi1

Still very happy this works.
Also works when throwing the rock at another player over the network. 😀#LDJAM #VR pic.twitter.com/6i32LOIDGI— Brian Lindenhof (@TheShadowBrain) August 29, 2016
I’m in!
I have a new computer on the way though that if it arrives during the weekend it might turn my entry into a way smaller one.
But I’m doing something!
Unity/Maya LT/HTC Vive
It’ll obviously be built on OpenVR so I’ll make it work with Rift/Touch too.
Doin' the thing with the VRs and stuff.
I'll be making a VR-only game again like the last 4 times I did LD, it'll run on OpenVR so you can use whatever you can get to run on SteamVR, though it'll definitely require controllers so get those running!
Is this thing on? Gif working? Yeah? No? Okay. Link instead.
I swear it's worth it!

Count me in! Will be doing another VR game, last 3 went decently.
Unity/Maya LT.
VR stuff will be using the SteamVR plugin so it'll work for all VR things with motion controllers.
I also have Knuckles controllers for my Vive so I'm gonna see if I can do anything compelling with those too.
Punch robots in VR! :D
I'm actually extremely happy with my entry, I feel like it's my best one so far.
Pretty sad how few VR entries there were, hoping there are at least a couple jammers with VR gear to submit ratings for my game!

VR jam games are notoriously under-rated just ratings wise, if you have a VR game for me to play and rate, comment here! I will periodically check back.
I have a CV1 Rift/Touch and also a Vive so I can play pretty much anything.
Feel free to also play/rate mine, runs off SteamVR so it'll work for anything that SteamVR works with!
(Maybe not NoloVR since that doesn't report the controller velocity to SteamVR which my game uses a lot)

Works with a 180 setup though!

Figured I'd put up a play through video of my game so people without VR or people who get stuck can see what's up.
I played with my HTC Vive and my Knuckles controllers in this video but it works fine with Vive wands and Oculus Rift/Touch too.

Feel free to give it a rating, I still need like 15 to get ranked!

Help me out, I know my game is VR-only but I've added a playthrough video to give you an idea of what it's like if you don't have any VR gear.

I'm actually quite happy with my game and would love it if I could get enough votes to get it ranked...
Woop woop!
Ranked #31 overall, super happy with it considering I made a VR-only game.
https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/39/punchey-vr-only
And like the last 5 times I'll be doing a VR entry using SteamVR and Unity. :D!
Main focus will be running on a Vive + Vive controllers, will see if I can get around to working out a decent Rift control scheme, it'll "just work" on Windows MR headsets.
After that I'll probably spin up my Knuckles controllers and add individual finger control assuming my game gets to have rigged/animated hands.
My last two entries I used my knuckles as the base control method which made it a little less than ideal for Vive controllers.
Gonna fix that this time!
3D modelling: Maya LT
Game making: Unity
I won't really need textures since I generally just use vertex colors in Maya to color my stuff.
I've also got a Photon-based VR Multiplayer framework ready incase I find that fits the theme. Multiplayer VR is awesome!
Also: No teleportation locomotion! It's unoriginal and limits design, fits some games but not mine. No touchpad locomotion either because it's shit. Don't like sliding.
due to all of the users who went around voting on games without downloading them. With the Mini LD, you have a higher download/view ratio because since there is no voting, that issue doesn’t occur.
