Lets go xd
Doing compo, using a Quake based engine just because I can.
Let's do our best!
Doing compo, using a Quake based engine just because I can.

I purposefully won't say what the 2nd genre is, but it's there.
I have no idea how I was left with this much time, even after adding a whole additional extra mode for people who finish the main game already. What a smooth process it was.
Once again I have been able to prove that a Quake based engine (FTEQW) is a valid choice for indie dev, as long as you know what you're doing.
Check out the entry here https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/41/$83807
I shall be streaming my progress here https://www.twitch.tv/shp__ after waking up
My tools are the FTE QuakeWorld engine, Blender for 3d, GIMP for 2d, Audacity for sounds, Sunvox for music, Trenchbroom for levels.
It's time for me to once again show what engines based on old games (quake) can do, compo is the way to go of course
To my own surprise, I'm still having fun when I play my compo game, Regain Power

After 31, 32, 33, 41, 42 and 43, I've been looking forward to this Ludum Dare again with the LD44 compo.
As always, I'm using the trusty FTE QuakeWorld engine, using Blender to make 3d models, GIMP for textures and other 2D art, Audacity for sound effects Sunvox for music and contrary to the last few jams I'll be using NetRadiant for maps.
I'll be streaming my entire compo at https://twitch.tv/shp__ and doing my best to raise my own standards
Good dev to everyone taking part!!
I'm still having a good time replaying my game for a quick adrenaline rush, managed to record this no-deaths lunatic playthrough

I'm streaming post-compo content development at https://www.twitch.tv/shp__ starting right now!!

Just set up my empty template ready for tomorrow. I'm gonna be taking part in the compo using the FTE QuakeWorld engine with some of my own helper libraries and tools. This will be my 8th Ludum Dare so far and I'm looking forward to it. I'll be streaming the progress on my twitch at https://twitch.tv/shp__

Some post-compo stuff, I Made a quick trailer video for my compo entry, as well as a nice gif to show off how RAD the game is. Getting a linux build up was easy, but web isn't playing nice with me so I guess that's off the table for this jam.
In my head I've been toying with the idea of modifying the game to have procedural content, turn it into kind of an infinite runner, but that might be a bit of a challenge on this quake based engine I'm using.

Once again taking part in the compo and I'll do my best regardless of the theme. Going to go 3D using the FTE Quakeworld engine with other tools including Blender, GIMP, Audacity, SunVox, NetRadiant. These tools have never let me down when it comes to making cool polished games real quick.
I'm always looking forward to the next Ludum Dare, I have fun doing the compo every time and I'm sure this time won't be any different.
I'll make use of the FTE Quakeworld engine, Blender, GIMP, Audacity and Sunvox for sure once again, this time I might be able to target web as the primary platform which makes life easier for anyone rating.
