I guess I can give it a shot!

I’m still not absolutely sure I can do this, but I’ve got some tools and I think I’m ok on time so I’m gonna go for it!

I’m either using Java or Multimedia Fusion for development, depending on whether or not I decide how easy it would be to implement the Java game frameworks in this short amount of time.

So I finished my game!

it sucks.
yay.
but this is a lesson for me,
learn some game development frameworks and drop Multimedia Fusion like it’s hot. MMF’s got too much going on.

DUCKS

[edit, oh right I got to explain my game first]

basically it’s less of a game, and more of a virtual riddle.
what you have to do, is see how the world works, and then use that to find the culprit.
it follows the YOU ONLY GET ONE prompt by only giving you once chance to solve it.

anyway, I’m going to go to bed because it took me 5 hours to write basic interface code rwaaaaggh….

Unprepared as all getup

I’m excited for this next ludum dare, as I’ve been planning to use this as an opportunity to get REALLY familiar with Slick 2D. That said, I was going to practice some basic stuff this week, and life decided that wasn’t going to happen. Right now I’m just trying to learn some basic timekeeping coding and I hope that I can squeeze in some physics and acceleration programming, not sure though. (thankfully I’ve got tilemaps and tilemap reading down, and obviously I know how to read commands from the player.) Also exporting my game… I need to learn how to do that too… that’s important…

All that said, design wise I’ve learned a lot from last time, so hopefully I can make something that’s actually a little fun to play.

Ok

Well I’m not going to finish my game fast enough for the compo.
Wasted to much time learning the framework and fixing bugs, that said, I’ve learned what to avoid now, and I can aim for the Jam.

We all gotta know when we’re beat

Well, I can’t get my game to export properly, and it’s not finished.

I think this is where I call it. It sucks a lot that I can’t enter… especially when I put so much time into the project.

does anyone know why JarSplice doesn’t make Slick2D’s file referencing work properly? It keeps saying that it can’t find the image file referenced by the tilemap, when it obviously can in the regular .tmx.

actually maybe that’s the problem, it’s pointing at the wrong tileset in it’s original folder.

but schools starting for me tomorrow morning so I really don’t have time to deal with this.
