Jump Drive!

A quick post before I crash into my bed (it’s 3:37 AM local time). I’ve finished my game, with only 5 minutes to spare! You can check it out here.

I’m quite happy how it turned out, I just wish I had the time to add more than 6 levels. Well at least I managed to put in a hardcore mode which should be at least a bit of challenge (and there is even a small reward:)).

This was my second Ludum Dare and I enjoyed it even more than my first!

Your instructions keep saying to use the right mouse button, but that didn’t do anything. I had to use the left mouse button.

Both buttons work for me. But left would really be better. Am I allowed to change the instructions?

Jump Drive (source)

First of all congrats to all who finished the 48h compo! I Hope you had as much fun as I.

It seems I was so tired yesterday I forgot to push the source code out to Github (I was finishing up at 4 AM). Well at least I didn’t forget to submit the game :)

Here is the source code in all it’s JavaScript glory: LINK. I’m quite happy with it, but the last minute dialogs with jquery aren’t pretty and the levels are a copy paste mess. Still not bad given the time constraint and all.

Check out my game.

LD33

I’m In!

I’ve already done warmup thing last weekend and now I’m all set for LD33!

I’ll be using:

  1. Unity
  2. Gimp & Pixen for pixel art
  3. Audacity & Bfxr & GarageBand for sounds and music
  4. Git for sanity

I’m also going to be streaming the whole thing here: http://www.twitch.tv/ensmotko

My #LD33 post mortem

I wish I had a couple more hours for my ldjam game (http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-33/?action=preview&uid=21481 …) to fix buggy attacking, add a proper ending/intro and some sounds.

Nevertheless I’m still happy how it turned out. Pixelart turned out to be cute and the abilities are fun (but badly needing some UI for the cooldowns).

For next time I really need to practice pixelart, as drawing was a big time sink during the compo. Getting more comfortable with unity is also must.

It was really frustrating that Unity actually crashed multiple times during the compo and I lost some work because of it (not too much but still). Everytime it happened I was trying to do something in the animator/animations. Has anybody else experienced similar issues with the animator?
