Good day, everyone!

We have never met before. My name is Aurimas, solo gamedev from Lithuania, better (un)known as SnoutUp. I like making little games and I like getting better at doing so. I really started getting in to game development about 6 months ago. Since then I made a couple of casual 2D games. They are okay, I guess.

Last time I chickened out because of lack of skills & even less confidence in them. I promised myself that I’ll come back and since then was leveling up by participating in smaller gamejams.

It’s time to beat the boss.

Themes are a bit scary,  hangover might happen, I can’t make SFX, but I’m excited. Let’s do this!

This jam was an emotional roller-coaster so far. I really really didn’t want this theme, had no decent ideas for it, got stuck in the simplest parts of development, lost mood, got demotivated after seeing what amazing things others are doing seemingly easily and was ready to quit a ton of times. Today is a bit better day and I started doing some art for that simple silly thing I made before. It still has no real purpose and I’m not sure if it fits the theme, but here it is. You jump around little planets, control their rotation if you so desire (no need for that) and avoid dangerous objects.

What next? I don’t really know. Going to add some simple tutorial and upload it for testing probably.

It’s 3AM and I’m closing my little solo gamedev workshop. There were ups and there were downs and I probably would’ve been better off without a gamejam this weekend, but alas – what’s done it’s done and that “it” is a mini circular runner called “Snow Need To Rush“.

Closing my first day of Ludum Dare 43 with an almost working... thing. Doesn't have a name, nor a full gameplay loop, but you can set buildings on fire and for some people that's all what matters.

This is [supposed to be] a small game about a small world where one CHARACTER_TYPE must juggle various sacrifices to please different gods and keep the village safe-ish.

Playable version tomorrow! Unless my body decides that it's flu season after all. 🐷

Almost done! Time to change some of most rushed out art into something a bit more presentable and balance out things. Playable web version is already available if you'd like to give some feedback!

This was a day full of dentist appointments and low motivation, but somehow I powered through it and managed to wrap the game loop of this little crazy thing! I shall sleep in peace.
