LD33

I am in! #33

For the first time, I will participate in this awesome adventure!

My Tools of choice:

Engine/Editor: Eclipse with the libGDX engine
Graphics: Gimp and my trusty graphics tablet
Audio: Audacity and Bfxr

I will try to livestream all 48 hours but may have to turn it off again due to bad internet connections.

Media with updates:
I will post some screenshots and such over at my Twitter account @Teekeks
As explained above, I will most likely also livestream on Twitch: http://www.twitch.tv/teekeks42

Lets hope that this will be a successful first entry into Ludum Dare.

Most basic Ship ever!

Yea, working on a Monster interpretation in space, could be fun :)

Minimalistic Artwork ftw!

Drama in Space – Post Mortem

Since this was my first LD for the compo, it was quite a challenge for me, but I think, that what I did come up with was a good result.

screenshot1

What went right:

  • I had plenty of time, came up with the idea really quick and had overall a ton of fun
  • The amount of weapons I was able to add in the time was quite ok and the unique characteristics of each weapon seems to be quite fun for all
  • The difficulty-settings seem to be q good thing to add, it was a last-4 hours idea. Since you unlock the last few weapons quite a bit into the game, it was good to have a Fun-mode with all weapons already unlocked so you can test and play around without the grind before.
  • I went for a really simplistic art style since art is not really my major skill, but it works quite well for this game

What went wrong:

  • I have some major performance problems in the compo-build, its not that bad, but due to a other bug, you received less points with the starting-weapon if you don’t reach the 60fps it is locked to (already fixed but not published yet, I not only fixed the bug but increased the performance by ~1000% :))
  • The difficulty is not rising enough with the player getting more advanced weapons, I am working on that (new enemies, better enemy-AI)

What will come out of Drama in Space

I am already working on Drama in Space 1.1, which will include tons of new weapons, new enemies, new gamemodes and a huge chunk of weapon balancing and performance increase. I am also working on quite a bit of new mechanics and the artstyle, Drama in Space will be a full blown minigame in the future!

I received a ton of feedback and working on everything that was criticized. I would love to see your feedback as well, so please go over and try my game and leave me feedback with what you liked and what you disliked.

I am thinking about putting the game on Steam Greenlight once Drama in Space 1.1 is out, we will see.

LD34

I am in!

I am in for my 3rd LD and the second solo one.

I think I will aim again for something 2D since 3D takes more time and I usualy want to spend more time on game mechanics.

My Entry for LD#33 Drama in Space (*link*) went well but I think i can do better now (and yes, I am still working on Drama in Space, its quite a diffrent game now :) )

I will use Java with libGDX, Eclipse, Gimp, Bfrx, Audacity and maybe some more.

I most likely will stream my progress on twitch.

The Progress of Swarmonian Explorer

I am currently working on improving gamemechanics and graphics by a huge part in my LD34 entry.

Here you can see how much graphics improved, it will be even more!

Before (state in the LD):

After (current state):

I am planning to put this game on Greenlight in the beginning of may 2016, lets see if I can make it into a full game until then :)

My LD34 game Swarmonian Explorer needs votes on Greenlight!

Hello!

For LD34 I created my swarm game “Swarmonain Explorer” (http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-34/?action=preview&uid=55223), I kept on working on it since I liked the idea and since a few days it is out for voting on Steam Greenlight so I can get it out to the public.

I added a ton of stuff, worked on the visuals and added a map editor to the game (wich I use myself to create new maps), so even if you get throu all maps the game comes with, you can just switch to the community maps!

I would love if you can give the game a look or even a vote!

Swarmonian Explorer on Steam Greenlight

LD36

Just published my LD34 entry!

Hi!

Since LD34, I worked hard on my entry Swarmonian Explorer (http://ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-34/?action=preview&uid=55223).

Now the game reached Alpha 1.0 and was released as Alpha 1.0 on itch.io for $3.90.

At the same time, I started a Steam greenlight campain, it would be lovely if you would check out the game!

I am in for the 4th time!

I was not shure if I want to be in this time since I liked the voting, but oh well ^^

I am in for the 3rd time solo and 4th time overall!

My tools:

  • Editor: Eclipse
  • Language: Java
  • Libs: libGDX and my own lib “UtiliTee” (yes, you can kill me for that name :P)
  • Music/Sound: Bsfx/Audacity
  • Graphics: Gimp (altho I may want to use a new techique where I dont need any textures)

I would love if you could also leave a vote on my LD34 game Swarmonian Explorer on Steam Greenlight: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/745362445

Atomic Reconstruction is now a full game! check it out!

So, my game for LD36 recieved quite a bit of refining and tons of new maps to play, I try to get it on steam now but it is also already available on itch.io.

Atomic Reconstruction is a chemistry based puzzle game where you have to use fusíon and fission to create specific atoms out of other atoms. The maps limit your possibilities to combine and split so you have to think ahead. The game now also features a online highscore, so the fewer steps you need to solve the maps, the better!

I'm in!

This time I will use my new custom made 3D engine for the game which I barely finished, lets see how it works out.

Tools: Eclipse, Audacity, Blender, Gimp, Bfxr

Making progress!

So, the deal is that you are limmited by the space you have. All you know is that you are in a underground bunker and that you take damage as soon as you get too far away from the light.

The good thing: you are a engineer! You can build light sources! The bad thing: energy and resources are limited by your environment. Use them wisely!

Update 2: Glowsticks!

So yea, light is good so why dont you throw some glowsticks?

Update 3: infoPanel, health, enemy and more

So, Quick update video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3qT9mFjafw

The info Pannel is generated dynamically for me, enemies can now take damage (and exist) and you can die from either being too long in the dark or from getting attacked. Your structures also take damage.

Next step is the inventory and structure building.

Oh no!
