I just want to share some of the Summoning chants from my game :)

So my game is part game, part tribute to how cool the community has been over the years I've been taking part.

So when I was generating chants for my game, I went to all of my previous games, and took down the names of the people who had commented.

This is my thank you, for giving me feedback, and helping me along the way.

@Voidsay

Oh, mighty Voidsay, lurker of the code deep, With a whisper and a keystroke, awake from your sleep! Tap-tap-tap, on the keys so bright, Bring forth the Void, to code through the night! Echo, echo, in the digital abyss, Summon the Voidsay with a message like this!

Obviously all of the chants are in my game: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/55/keyboard-warrior And if you liked what you read, then you will find some more interesting ones (not just all the "A"s (And Voidsay, who is an awesome character, and was the first being I summoned ;))

Could you spare a minute to rate my game? (Just 6 more)

I’ve played and commented and done the right things, but I haven’t yet got to 20 rating on my game.

If you can, could you play and rate my little toy game, it’s HTML based, no downloading, and will take all of 60 seconds

Please and thank you to anyone why does

Please: `Orbiting` is such a good theme!

Hey All

Please for the Love of all that is fun, please won't you vote for Orbiting please please please

I have a special attachment to this theme - A, I think I suggested it and B, I've written two Space Based games with Orbital mechanics in previous LD events (See my games, Orbitum Scaterum)

  1. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/42/orbitum-scaterum
  2. https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/54/this-will-be-awesome

I would love, love love love to have another try at Orbitum Scaterum

Since the last LD I invested time in learning Web Assembly, more math, more art and generally just more skills. And I feel like I'm so close to being able to make a really good Orbital game.

If you don't like space, but are still willing to vote for the theme, here are some ideas how the word can relate to other systems:

Orbiting Themes

  • Chemistry - Atoms have orbitals
  • Social networking - People have following Orbiting them
  • Jump games, can you get to Orbit?
  • Platformers - Can you get to the center of an orbiting puzzle (Map rotates around a central point)
  • Cars - Have orbiting defenses that can attack or block other vehicles
  • Eating - Can you feed the bunny until it gets so big and heavy that it becomes a black hole?

I know it's a stretch to ask people to vote for a theme, but please

Please: `Orbiting` is such a good theme!

Metaworld - half way through and I got no game

Can't believe im half way through the weekend, and I don't have anything playable.

The tech is all coming together and everything is mostly working (except floating point math jittering the heck out of my mesh)

hope I have a game and not another tech demo at the end of 33 more hours

Metaworld - I don't even want to wonder how many triangles

polys.png

Working with WASM and Three.js for the first time.

I created a GIANT mesh to test the limits of what can render etc. But I'm blown away by how smoothly and how well it is able to not only generate Simplex noise, but also create a mesh and render. Movement doesn't feel laggy or anything, so I am really impressed

Metaworld - tech demo

Hey got a second?

You might like to check one of these out, just scan the QR code with your camera, and experience one of the tech demos I made for my game “Metaworld”

It works with your phones gyro/compass/accelerometer/gps to let you looks around a metaworld.

Please one more rating

Hi there

I need just one more person to rate my game to get a score in every field.

https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/57/the-cloud-cities

I would also love to get feedback on the “story” part of the game (accessible from the main menu).

If you have a moment, please would you consider taking a look at my game 🙏🏼

I want to know your favorite of the themes, and game ideas

IMG_0554.jpeg

I’m rather fond of space games, and I like the idea of Navigation as the theme. Imagine your sailing craft in space, solar sails trimmed to align with the solar plane, you’re awake to check your position in space, make adjustments, hoping to align your craft for a gravity corridor opening up between Jupiter and Saturn. All you have is the sun at your back, a telescope and the stars in the sky around you.

  • Find and chart the position of the planets
  • if your target is a moon, find or calculate the moons position
  • figure out where you are in space by triangulating
  • work out your speed by comparing to previous measurements
  • tweak the sails, or burn precious fuel to make a course adjustment
  • hibernate for days or months

if you miscalculated, or you put the sails in the wrong position your could be hundreds of thousands of miles from where you expected to be.

But get it right, and you’ll fly by the most beautiful planets, moons, stars, or trail along side comets as they sparkle in the light of the sun, or run silent in the shade of deep space

Just writing that gets me excited for a crazy like that!

So when do we start "Im In" posting?

The normal barrage of "Im In!"

Actually I really don't like those posts - we need something else, where we can show our intent to do LD, and what language, tools, people we will be working with.

Compo - Jam - Event?

Hey, I saw the timer for the Compo expire yesterday, I see the submission hour for the Jam is going to expire in 5... Is there still the "event" category? I've been planning to do the whole week of development, and smash out a full playable game
