LD 40

I'm in

Started a bit late, but with west europe timezone. After a long reflection, finally found a not so bad idea.

I will mainly use Unity / Photoshop and maybe some music/sound tools at the end. I will post some screens or animations as soon as i got something to show

Let's do some code!

Some progress

Here is some progress. Basic "snake" gameplay implemented. Graphics is not done yet, juste some preview prefabs.

I will give more detail on the gameplay in the next posts.

Next step: Finish the gameplay and UI screens (menu, game over, ...). After that, i will start creating real graphic assets.

Some updates

The basic gameplay is finally complete. I will add some tweak to the difficulty settings and probably little more challenges before posting final version.

Snakeem2017-12-03/em18-06-24.jpg

The gameplay is simple. Scoring by collecting/eating the fruits to grow up. Obviously, the more you collect, the worse it is. Sometimes, a "pill" will show up and will remove a tail part if you pick it up.

The wall dosen't "kill you" but make you bounce. Be carefull of the angle, because if your head touch the tail, you lose.

The Game Over screen is done with final score.

I started to make some graphic tweaking. The biggest part will be to create and replace the snake/caterpillar model and the basic environement (plants, rocks, ...)

And... it's done!

Here is my game for the LD40 Jam entry: Snake.

Snakeem2017-12-05/em01-51-24.jpg

It's an small snake-like game. The gameplay is pretty simple: Eat fruits (apple) to earn points. But, be carefull, the more your eat, the more you are growing.

I'm not 100% satisfied, but if i don't want to miss the deadline, i must publish my game "as is".

What's missing: - Some really shiny cute graphics - Music - Score board

Since the LD34, it's the first time i'm really going to the end. Not as easy as i thought, but here we are. I will be present for the next one and i will try to do better

Thanks all and have fun!

Ludum Dare 49

I'm in

Hey, i'm in!

My objective this time is to deliver () something (Jam or compo, not decided) at the end. Even if it's not 100% done.

I will most probably use Unity and Blender.

Stay hyped everyone, it's starting soon!

Ludum Dare 51

Few minutes left before starting...

I'm in! After some missed LDJam and few unfinished/canceled tries, this time, i will try to finally post something. Good luck every one and enjoy!

First progress after a slow start

The concept: You're controlling a robot. You're facing waves of enemies, but no... they will not be spawning every 10 seconds. Instead, your core reactor is malfunctioning, causing cyclically multidimensional warping. My initial idea is to have multiple dimensions with different kinds of threats (or not). Very hard to explain, especially on a non-native language for me (french), but future progress screenshots/videos will be pretty self explanatory.

First significant progress on the gameplay, mainly on the player/robot control. You can move the robot freely and rotate the turret independently. Next steps will be the spawn of enemies and basic attack capabilities

Progress reports

Hey all!

End of the first day with some new progress. Enemies pathfinding, turret rotation clamping and basic laser shooting mechanism. Tomorrow will be the hardest part of the dev with the dimensional mechanism related to the theme. So... much more to come ;)

I'm still targeting the Jam (72h) to allow me doing some proper graphics and polishing

End of day 2

Hey all!

A lot of work, and a lot of bug correcting, physics adjustments and gameplay/feeling tests. here are some of the day keylights (in no particular order): - Added the cycle mechanism (10 seconds between normal and altered phase/stasis) - First rough of the altered phase/stase with heavy post processing (it needs a lot more work) - Added basic UI to display main cyclic timer and score (more to come: player robot health) - Better enemy visual - Added better laser visual, sound (pew pew), impact particles, explosions... - Add dynamic damage texts

The last day is going to be intense. Stay tuned and good night folks!

10 Seconds Cycles

Hey all!

Here is my submission for the Ludum Dare 51 "Jam" : https://ldj.am/$303225

You're piloting a robot that deal with infinite waves of enemy drones. Your robot alternate between 2 cycles. A normal cycle with regular lasers with average damage and a "enrage" cycle when damages and fire rate much more increased. Also, during this second cycle, healing bonuses appears randomly on the map. Be aware that they will desappear at the end of the phase.

The end of the game will be when the robot is out of health. Your final score will be displayed.

I hope you will really envoy testing and playing my game.

I made all the content, except the particles and the sounds. Of course, the game is not very well optimized but it must be playable smoothly on majority of computers.

Thanks for your time!
