A long time ago in a game compo far far away...
I made a game called RoboSub for Pyweek 6 in 2008.. kindof feels applicable for this theme
..but of course gonna do something new.

GL HF everyone
Lets get to it. Deeper and deeper. I'm probably not ready for Compo, but I have WORK on MONDAY.
...a theme I voted for won! Gotta be that LD48 magic.
I would like to change it to Infinite_Twelve.
Planning on making another Ren'Py visual novel! I enjoy writing and being able to get games out of it quickly. Hopefully joined by my favorite artist Colm~
So, I took a bit of time to finish up the pong game I was making as a warmup to this LD, and surprisingly enough I ended up finishing it on "the deadline" (the start of the actual jam that is). Really happy with my progress on Godot, and I hope I can come up with something cool for the voted theme (at least cooler than some janky pong).

Good luck everyone on your compo/jam game!
Good luck to everyone!
.
My first LD was in 2009, with #14 and the theme Advancing Wall of Doom. I've done entries here and there throughout the years, but I absolutely could not miss THE Ludum Dare 48.
The theme was not one of my top choices, so I'll need some time to think of a game idea, but I'm excited for this weekend!
Off to brainstorm; brb
I wish all good luck and a lot of fun. :heartbeat:
good luck to everyone
Sorry
what is the diference between compo and jam and why the timing of em different ? first time participating in ludum dare :))TIA

Been working on finishing the music app I plan on using for LD48 and my current non-LD project while waiting for the theme to be announced.
Hey look, it's Deeper And Deeper! That was probably my favorite theme I voted for. Now the question is if the idea I have for it can even be done in 48 hours. I'd hate to switch to the Jam just for another mere 24 hours when it's the symbolic 48th 48-hour event.
(Yes, that's right, I actually like the theme despite a Ludum Dare tradition being everyone hating the theme)
Now, I'd better finish up my music app. Good thing is it means I'm actually doing something while brainstorming my game design.
I would also like to apologize for the fact that I'm apparently cursed, because I +1'd Stuck In A Loop too. At this rate whatever I +1 in LD49 is going to be the theme.
🎉🎉 It's not You Are The Power Source! That was probably the only theme I truly disliked this time. It's been a long time since finishing a game here and this time I plan to invest energy into actually doing something fun. I plan to learn Unity at the same time, let's see how it goes.
So far three main ideas: 1) Mines exploring, like in Stardew Valley 2) Journey to the Center of the Earth - digging deeper and deeper discovering interesting worlds inside 3) Planet inside a planet inside a planet - when you dig deep, you discover a smaller, weird planet. You dig even deeper, there is another, smaller and even weirder world inside...
It's jam time! First of all, good luck to everyone else participating in this, let's all have fun!
Maybe I should introduce myself a little bit before: My name is Sheinxy, I'm a silly IT student who decided to come back for this jam! This is my second time participating here (the first one being a year ago) I'm working with Godot, Piskel and BFXR, and this time around I am not alone as my (lovely) boyfriend wanted to participate too by doing musics for me Unlike last year when I had a lot of free time (due to obvious reasons) this year's jam is going to be a little harder for me, schoolwork and responsibilities come first and they are not going to make it easy working on a game, so I guess this is going to be quite a hustle, but a good one! It's probably going to feel more like a 24h game jam :d
Now, now, let us see. The theme is Deeper and Deeper, quite a good theme, I like it! The first thing that came to my mind when seeing that theme was the game Spelunky, but I don't think I'm going to go in that direction. Unlike last year I don't have much to work with, only my small macbook, limited time and resources (but a great musician on board, so not everything is bad :3) Due to that, I will have to aim for a smaller game compared to last year, but I'll make up for it by aiming for a really good one! I'm quite fine with working with limitations anyways, I think limitations push towards turning your thinking around, thus breeding creativity!
Anyhow, I am now given a choice to either sleep right now and start working early, or start working now and wake up quite late, I'll probably do a mix of these two options I haven't found what I will do yet, but I'll think about something great!
On that note, the game is afoot!

And it will also be deeper than anything above it.
