After being at it for 8 hours today trying to implement some gameplay, I am sore and ready to call it quits lol. I do technically have ~9 hours between the rest of today and after work tomorrow, but I am not close to the end at all and I keep running into bugs that I know I'm having trouble resolving because I'm inexperienced. Regardless, I learned a whole lot, and I think I'll still finish this concept in my free time because I really like it. I'll write up a retrospective with some of the stuff that I finished, things I learned, etc in the remaining time I have and post it tomorrow.
I can't wait to see the games you all made though! I'll be sure to do tons of reviewing to make up for my lack of product lol

All the possible touches for Compo done. Maybe, just maybe I can fit a music or any sound...

Our progress for now.
A game where you craft a chariot every 10s.

Just started working on this prototype and realized that I should prototype on paper first.

So I grabbed some paper and started playing, still lot of work to do, even if this is not finished for the jam, I might work on that mechanic where you place humans in places to generate resources, then unlock new places or craft to get better tools.

Concept: Help to move the buddy and to regenerate its light by clicking on it "Every 10 seconds"
I can't wait for people to play it! Here is the submission page:

Finished in 46 hours and 30 minutes. I've uploaded the Windows build, and will upload other platforms later. I enjoyed this one, even though it was a tough slog.
Anyway I present Der Schließmuskel
Enjoy :8ball:

The game is now done!
First time in a long while I managed to do the compo and I'm happy with my result. I had to throw away so many great ideas but in the end I feel like I cut just enough to make it doable and be finished with it. I hope you enjoy testing it out. Good luck to the rest of you, and especially all Jam'ers who still have some time left. Tomorrow, game-playing will commence!

Everything planned is done.

Now the only thing that is missing is * better HUD * AI
I guess it will be challenging in the remaining hour, but let's try!
Yeaah ! the game is published. I tried to upload a zip for the embedded version, not sure if I am supposed to see a preview or if it will happened in an 1hour!
Good luck to everybody doing the Compo! The end is near, you have done a great job, go go go !
Good luck to the Jammers too!
A screenshot of our game so far.

(also hs nice music)
Turns out pico8 is an actual bliss for jams
I'm not sure how I did it this time, but I did. Not my best, but I'm pretty proud of this considering I had like 26 hours to make it.
