Work in progress

My grandchild visited to record some audio effects. She is scared of spiders and she asked me if I could make Wednesday.
So of course I obliged and this game is now called ' Wednesday's Tiny Creatures '

But my naive method to draw the path cause big performance issue. New stuff to add to my todolist.
Okay, so I'm working on a visual novel. And everything was fine. Story is almost finished. Sketched a lot. And then I started working with Ren'Py and ... it didn't work the way I wanted it to.
I don't want to use the usual menu statement for making choices. Instead, I want my creatures to hide one of the choices (it makes sense in context).
But it just wouldn't work.
I spent an absolutely embarrassing amount of time on this. And the solution is hilariously easy. No, seriously.
I want to scream.

Half of the day was spent arguing and fighting over the Brainstorm, time to start an actual gamedev :P
We decided to make a VR game about an Oozemancer trying to retrieve the Slimeonomicon from the Tomb Of Giants. Your weapon of choice are going to be the swarms of these cute little slime creatures that stick to surfaces and to each other. So you can pass the bridges by slapping a bunch of tiny slimes into as big Slimy Bridge, stick them to the wall to climb up, throw them at enemies, etc.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAND we have creatures cincept
SO LOVELY!!!!!!!!!!!

What tiny creature(s) did you go for? Is it an existing creature? An animal or something else?
We went full potato who gets help from animals :stuckouttonguewinkingeye:
Follow @burchyn and @gm3l on this site. They are the super team I’m working with

I have the main character and scenes. I will surely be done by tomorrow… at leat I hope so…

I've got most of the simple stuff done. There's slightly better graphics and now players can select---or tab through---the different creatures. The creature information appears on the far right. It was fun making the random name generator and genetic quality description. The color of the gene status field changes with gene rarity.

Been a while since i've made a devlog post here, but wanted to share a little sneakpeak of the progress so far :eyes: Happy jamming everyone!

My prototype is slowly taking shape. This time I've decided to program first and then worry about graphics. I'm slowly becoming satisfied with my fully procedurally generated city.

I am making a game about ducks. Small ones and getting them "on the road!" to safety.. yeah, it will make sense when it is done! :D Initial snapshot here of the work in progress!

Im not quite sure what just happened - this might be the craziest bug i ever encountered and im not quite sure how or why its happening, this will be fun :D

"Tiny Creatures" – what a perfect occasion for our chef, Ogron Gramsay, to share his favorite culinary recipes with you… Nothing makes our gourmet ogre salivate more than these tiny delights, barely crunchy to the bite. From a delicious Lamb's wool soufflé to a Dwarf tournedos marinated in sock juice, you'll discover that even the smallest creatures can pack a big flavor!

Prepare to flush those robots down the toilet. There are pipes waiting to get cleaned!

Streaming more Ludum Dare, let's see how far it goesss
