Anyone have any LD54 wallpapers?

Would like to replace that LD53 wallpaper that's been stuck on my desktop for months now

Handheld 1980's toys

I bloody love space, me. I remember as a kid, largely "pre-videogames" (At least in my family) we had these toys that were kinda electronic, kinda wind-up and were sort of hand-held space themed games. I decided with space and limited as two factors in the theme..I would go with making a clacky, hand-held, ballbearing space game, based on these sorts of games from my youth. Damns I am old...

Don't really know what I'm making yet, but I've started getting some basics up and running. Still using Processing like the first time I joined :)

I hope that I'll see some improvement in my skills. So far I've just resolved some old audio issues, built a SceneManager and got some pixelart images on the screen.

I hope everyone has a good jam. Don't overwork yourselves!

Basic movement and UI is working

It's starting to look like a game. I've got pathfinding and the basic UI elements in place now. ld54_progress01.gif

We're in!

We started a bit late due to time confusion, but @hirnsalat and I are in, and "already" have a concept we're happy with. It's not going to be exciting but rather meditative. At least that's the plan 😅

First time in 3D land!

Screenshot 2023-09-30 133211.png Alright, so first time working in a proper game engine for quite some time. A lot of looking for answers online, but the game is getting closer to being a thing at least. I'm trying to use only Open Source tools this time around which means a lot of learning while i go. (Godot, Blender, Gimp, LMMS)

Deploying space sunglasses!

A dog is never late! But I might be.

I am trying to make a little shoot 'em up using Python and Pyxel. The twist is that the player is a cop and everyone gets in the way :articulatedlorry: :redcar: :bluecar: :policecar:

Good going so far, good luck everyone!

Thoughts from day 1

After missing out on over a year's worth of game jams due to work, moving interstate and health issues I'm finally able to join in a jam again!

When I saw the theme I had no idea what to make for it (even though I did vote for it). My wife saw the theme and started listing a heap of ideas. So I picked the easiest one to make she thought of. This time round I'm wanting to try focusing on how create a feeling, so I'm going with her simple idea of a claustrophobic maze (the setting is the important part). Here's hoping I can get it to feel right.

Today wasn't a huge list achieved due to other commitments, but I'm quite happy with what I got done. Even if it is only a design doc, basic level plan and a new movement script (my usual wasn't restrictive enough). Now to take a break and let my daughter get some sleep. She's becoming fascinated with coding and would stay up all night watching if I let her... also need to see if my wife has stopped writing down ideas.

Happy jamming everyone and I look forward to seeing your creations!
