Ludum Dare 49 October 1–4, 2021

Little Over a Day Left. Thanks.

Now that it's just over a day until results appear, I wanted to make a post about my game: It's All In Your Head.

Here is the link in case you haven't played it: https://ldjam.com/events/ludum-dare/49/its-all-in-your-head

And to the people who have played it, or are planning on playing it, A post-jam version is in the works.

Changes include Re-written NPCs, New NPCs, NPC questlines, More Flesh Tokens, New areas, Redone ending, More animated visuals, Self Teleporter (Teleport to the begining of levels after collecting all Flesh Tokens), More music,More sound effects and hopefully mac and linux support (no promises).

Thanks for reading, thanks for playing and thanks for the great feedback.

Help Pen make it to 20!

So close to 20 ratings, I'd love it if you took a second to play and rate my game!

And don't forget to look under the DANGER category when rating; there are some great games there that might not make it!

Mosquitonkhamun: Origins

MosquitoL_gif.gif

Once there was a pharaoh with very tiny nostrils. He'd squeeze through in a high-pitch tone when having a conversation or crumbling at his midday stew.

Apart from that he loved his alien panties, but who cares, back then it was a trend. Despite the aliens refuse they ruined the Egyptian fashion.

So, this pharaoh had whiskers also. When he sneezed, they quivered with a screechy metallic tone. His partner used that trick to get some sack scratching, until vanished – to a pharaoh less sneezy one.

Mosquitonkhamun, as fellow slaves called the buzzer of our story, was a very thin, almost a matchstick, supernatural being. By supernatural meaning – he was totally out of this world, or at least the whole Ancient Egypt simulation.

Thence, when an alien ship of different fashion (yet unseen by the Egyptians) flew by on the annual occasion of casually hitting the tops off the pyramids, Mosquitonkhamun was thrilled by the looks and the gestures, moreover – the tones of what these new spaced out mosquito-likes made.

And they loved his moustache, well, the whiskers. So, according to some astro-guy, there was a huge something in space that day, and that other kind of aliens were really into the celebration!

So the orgy was held. Them, and our high-pitched thin pharaoh guy. Relentlessly blowing the steam through his nostrils.

Now, this is how mosquitoes came on Earth.

At least, add it to your theories.

And have a go at our mindshaping thrill mosquito tones (distinctly live recorded for the narrative).

Great LD49!

Thanks, everyone!

TLDR; PLAY & RATE GAMES

If you are short on ratings and need some more to get ranked the best way to get ratings is to PLAY & RATE GAMES CREATED BY OTHERS! That way you can raise your game in "Smart" ranking so it will be visible even on the main page of Ludum Dare! You get some extra points for leaving a comment!

IMHO asking for getting ratings when you gave less then 20 ratings by yourself is selfish.

So don't be selfish. Play games made by others. Game jam is about making games as much as about giving & getting feedback.

If you already have more than 20 ratings but still struggle to get ratings, let me know down in comments.

Cheers!

Moody lovecraftian visual novel awaits you!

Play it here, comments and critics are most welcome, we'd like to improve for next Jam (see you there ;) )!

Unstable ecosystem

Animal Island is a light ecosystem simulator where you must keep balance between the populations of rabbits, wolfs and grass on an island. It contains handdrawn art and is playable in the web browser. Give it a try, we're running a bit low on reviews !

(Stream ended) Rating/giving feedback live

Thanks everyone - the stream is over now!

Hello I'd love to give you feedback and chat with you in twitch chat live on stream over at https://www.twitch.tv/crefossus

In the future, I stream w,f,s 5-7PM attempting to analyze the top 100 games (I'm at #33 now). You can see that doc over here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1yuDVNyRjTy7DEMhzxSoyx2pLoeDkIY6dliwg5OEkGZs/edit?usp=sharing if you're curious of the types of stuff I talk/think about during the streams.

Also if you're struggling to get ratings make sure you play & rate others because you show up higher in the list. Also leave valuable feedback in the comments for the devs of that game. That's weighted more this time.
