Some more progress

Unstable LD49

Unstable Game

Working with hexagons first time ever. Already hate them!

Go Dots in Godot is go-... veeeery slowly!

So a friend and myself decided to use this LD as opportunity to investigate Godot! He fancied modelling a social experiment to see if you could create a 'stable' society (whereas it will generally tend to be unstable ! :drum: )

So far we've spent 60% time so far talking and planning, 30% figuring out how to do stuff in Godot and 10% actually making stuff!

Here's a super-early bututterly awe-inspiring progress GIF! No, it's not the slowest game of Missile Command you've ever seen. They're little creatures called "Dots" which are very gradually "going" (as yet to random places then new random places).

With that much ado, I present "Go Dots"!

DAY 1 IS OVER

50+ hours of brainshtorming, code, art and music pvkR3WMOrYA.jpg

Good night for those, who gonna go sleep and wish a great work for those, who gonna crunch!

Day 1

islandrun3-1.gif islandrun3-2.gif

Day 1 update: Got a basic game loop working: You have to rescue buddies from islands scattered about the place. Over time, the islands sink and you have to save them quickly. Looks dreadful, hoping to improve.

Day 1 progress + stream

day1prog.png Day 1 the basic game loop is online + some vfx and sound Day 2 gotta make a nice ui and flesh out the game loop into something playable tune in to the stream: https://www.twitch.tv/empty5013 and enjoy programmer asmr, mostly typing noises and occasional swear words!

Weird Eye Game - Post 2

Hey Fellow Jammers o/ Still working on the weird eye game, so here is a small portal Vfx concept, Good luck everyone !

Day 1 is done. Yes I'm doing floating islands and no you can't stop me.

Brokenworld.gif

Man, I'm getting way too comfortable making these shaders all the time lol Decided to abuse them a little harder this time

The concept is that you are using highly destructive attacks on floating islands that are held up by really unstable magic and old, fragile contraptions. Oh and there are a bunch of demons and shit spawning up there. And you sometimes turn into whatever the hell that thing is and go totally berserk in melee. And you can fly because duh.

I may or may not have had way too much caffeine and adderall.

Or maybe I need more, there's still a ton of things left undone

Our rendering is really unstable!

We are making a 6 dof flying game for an oscilloscope.

name of the game is chaos theory

I posted a little pendulum demo yesterday, now kind of made it into a tiny game by making some objectives and restrictions or something. Sadly only spending ~5 hrs/day on this, hopefully I'll finish with something playable (e.g. there is no win detection atm yet)

Also due to the non-deterministic nature of the system (carefully put in place in the code) you can just hit retry until you win :D

Bonus points (when there are points) for hitting the same objective multiple times, I managed to get the middle one 4 times once.

12:30am - Progress

Checkpoint2c.gif Have implemented the survivors that need carrying to the exit; the exit itself, and the doors and keycards blocking the way. Health is in there too, but reaching zero doesn't do anything yet. First thing in the morning I'll implement victory and failure conditions and then actually build some levels.

Day 1 complete

We got our little waiter running around with a tray. Had some fun playing around with bone rigging the arm. The rest is frame by frame animated by @fredcarl

Day 1 Progress

I'm working on a post apocolypse magic world city builder. It was originally gonna be an RTS, but it ended up being something else. . . Oh well. It's unstable because the world you're playing in is unstable. Still adding things like that, but here's a picture of it for now. one.JPG

There's still a lot to be done, but most of the code for the core gameplay is done. I don't know if anyone else thinks so, but for me it's already been quite a lot of work. This past ~25 hours I feel like I've already sacrificed part of my soul. Haha. Anyways, let's all keep pushing on. Thanks for reading.

We are saaaaailing!

Ferran and I decided to do an online-multiplayer sailing racing game! You must be thinking "multiplayer? for a gamejam? You are crazy!".. Yeah, that's what I thought too, but Ferran convinced me that he really wants to do it, and apparently he's got experience with making multiplayer games on jams, so I was like, ok, lets do it then!

Since he's in Taiwanese time and I'm in European time, he went to sleep and I was the first to start working on the game. I started by streaming me implementing a realistic sailing and fin physics.. Btw, did you know that fins and sails are totally the same thing??? Yup!

I was explaining that live on the stream, and how to calculate the "push from the wind".. And around an hour later, I started sailing:

I am continuing the stream in a few minutes, join me as I continue on to implementing BUOYANCY next!

Social Anxiety Simulator

Don't collapse, stay nice, survive all these meetings with a stable personality. Screenshot_1.png

I need some sleep ^^

My approach for the "unstable" topic is a game where you have to pile up jittering objects to reach a certain height from the bottom to the top, or you have to beat your own highscore height.

Objects can break and it has 5 levels so far. I think I will add 10 levels at max, rather 8, since the playing rounds have to be fast.
