My game engine
Here is my game engine every one!!
I know its simple but it is a Pygame extension that makes game-state handling easy. (ie. menus and transitions and such)
URL: https://sourceforge.net/projects/j-engine/
Open Source and free! 😀

Really excited to participate. For me it’s going to be Löve, Paint.NET and BFXR.
Good luck!
Well change of plans – will be competing in Java with LWJGL and Slick-Util. I have no idea how it’ll turn out.
Hi Ludum Daritarinian and Ludum Daritariniane,
I will be using for the first time Java instead of C++.
Code: Java, Slick2d and personal librairy.
Sound: Bfxr and FreeSound
Mapping: Perlin Noise (Random is the BEST mapper 😉
Art: Gimp
Norgas
Edit: I update my reference code so it’s contain only base code and no actual specific game element.
Thx imake for make me realize my error.
Wont be able to make this upcoming comp, but certainly will in the future! My brother suggested I join up and start practicing for future competitions, (moving into my college dorm during this upcoming one XD ) See you all next time!
As usual i’ll be enter the Jam with a friend, we will only use 48 hours though. planning to use Game-Maker again. i wanted to use flash punk, or unity but don’t feel comfortable with it either yet. I plan for the next ludum dare to be Flash Punk and just me.
…but it looks like my participation is a bit up in the air. I’ve got a friend staying the week and I’ll be compelled to be hospitable. In any case I won’t be able to have any development time on Sunday due to previous commitments.
But!
I’m really hoping to be able to join in, since I had a blast the last time (which was also my first time). If I end up finding the time, I’ll be using:
Best of luck to everyone else who’s joining in!
I’ll be in for the Jam again this year. I’m not entirely sure who my team will entirely compose of.
Framework: Java, Slick2D
Graphics: Photoshop
Audio: Audacity + ?
Misc Tools: Tiled, Pedigree
Well, this will be my first real go at the Ludum Dare. Here goes nothing.
As much as I’d *love* to target android, I think this year I’ll be doing a casual multiplayer game. No promises yet, we’ll have to wait and see what the theme is.
So why is one theme ‘AfterLife’ and another ‘Life After Death’?
Kittens FTW!
I’m in!
This time around I’ll be switching from using Flixel to using Axel, so we’ll see how that goes. Unlike last time I’m not going to bother pushing myself to keep it simple; I’m going to figure out what I want to do and just dive in and see what I can get done in 48 hours, even if it means only a partially finished product.
In terms of tools, here’s what I’m planning:
Language: AS3 using Axel (with FlashBuilder as my IDE)
Graphics: Photoshop
Sounds: As3sfxr
Music: Either random music generation tool from googling or Fruity Loops
And if anyone is still unsure of what to use, you still have a week where you could go and learn how to use Axel!
Here are logos of some of my past LD projects (I don’t have a dh1 logo on hand so I put my dh2 one don’t kill me):

It’s the time of the first Ludum Dare Jam for the Subvert Games team! We got 100 bottle of rum to easily reach the Ballmer peak and we’re ready to rock! ![]()

As with many others, this is my first time in the Ludum Dare competition. My hope is to actually complete a game project as I have started many but finished few (read: almost none). I really hopeful, as already this competition has me pumped up with excitement.
Programming: Visual Studio, C# using XNA 4.0
Graphics: NES style (likely) using Paint.NET
Sound: SFXR, FamiTracker, Audacity
Misc: Tiled, Chronolapse
Base Code: Get it Here. The code is mostly cobbled together from a few past incomplete projects; it contains code for loading Tiled XML files and a custom spritesheet data. A basic sound manager, sprite and tile map rendering, getting controller state. Also included is a very quick and dirty tool (with source) for building sprite sheets with animations and collision bounds the custom spritesheet data format.
Font: For any text display, I will likely be using a free font from http://www.proggyfonts.com/, specifically Proggy Square. I have converted it to a spritefont (PNG) for use in XNA (both full size, and something that fits in 8×8). The original font and converted formats can be downloaded Here. I believe the rules let you use free fonts, but I’m not sure if they can converted to the format of choice prior to the competition. If possible let me know in comments. If not I can recreate it during the competition.

I was aiming for something rythmic
This will be my first ludum dare, and first game compo in quite a while. I intend to use this as an excercise to stop obsessing over minute technical details and actually GSD.
Programming: flashdevelop, with flashpunk.
Art: gimp.
Sounds: some flavor of sfxr, sunvox.
Misc: sublime text as data editor and scratch pad.
Let’s do it. Let’s make it happen.
This is my fifth time, and as usual, I’ll be using FlashPunk. With a good portion of both hard work and luck, I should be able to do better than last time; we’ll see.
Good luck everyone!
After my first LD(23) i was gladly awaiting the next ludum dare in the vacation.
And there it was! YEAH!!! Finally i would have all the time 😀 But wait! there is more :/ This ludum dare is in the last weekend of my vacation D: So again i will be faceing my old enemy… Sunday evening. Though school starts at 3pm the next day, i will still (try) to sleep early sunday eve.
I already know what i will use (The only stuff i am good at)
Programming: Java usuing LWJGL(OpenGL) and Slick-util
Graphics: Paint.net (Maybe something new)
Sound: SFXR, and audiacity(if i manage to make a track)
And not only will i struggle with Sunday evening, I will also be meeting my graphic skills again. wich have grown better though 😀
I can’t wait for LD24 to start! Yay!
Awesome is one of those words that’s lost its meaning, especially when typed in caps with a bunch of superfluous exclamation marks after it.
Me: I’ll send you the docs by COB
Colleague: AWESOME!!!!
…no, it’s not. You are just easily impressed.
HOWEVER, in the British, reserved and understated use of the world, I would like to declare the upcoming compo as “Awesome”. In capital letters and with extra exclamation marks. AWESOME!!!!!
Voting has started, need to find a way to sleep as much as possible this week in preparation for a mammoth weekender jammin’ with my buddies. Second time out in a proper compo, and just as excited as this time 4 months ago! We have so many ideas, but only 72 hours! So short!
Now I just need to sort out my excuses for conflicting social engagements. How do i tell people that I have better things to be doing, like sitting in front of my laptop all weekend eating junk food? Ok, is junk food might be too much to hope for?

IT’S THAT TIME AGAIN! YES YOU HEARD IT RIGHT! LUDUM DARE <3
I’ll be using either Game Maker or Unity 3D (or even I’m feeling really generous, FlashPunk). For 3D modelling I’ll probably use SketchUp with the PlayUp plugin. For everything graphic I’ll use Paint.NET and GIMP. For my music I will be using my new semi-acoustic ukulele and probably Ableton Live, Audacity and an audio interface to record the ukulele.
I hope that yet again many awesome games will be created in the 48 hours of intense game development 😀
