LD28 December 13–16, 2013

I am in! ( maybe, sorta, who knows )

I’m in, if work doesn’t hinder me too much, girlfriend doesn’t want attention and if the topic pleases me.

If all works out, I’ll be using

C# and SharpDX, FL Studio and either Blender and/or some 2D editor ( Paint.NET )

Holding for a fun topic

Hey fellow Canadian! I’m working in C# too, I’d love to check out the live stream. Let me know if you’re on twitch.tv?!

I’m in! (kinda)

So this time I’ll be doing LudumDare on “Easy Mode”.
My weekend is full of tasks I have to do so I donwt know how much time I’ll have for LudumDare =\ But I’ll be OK! 😀
Tools:
FlashDevelop
FlashPunk
Inkscape\GraphicsGale
SunVox

Good luck!

Last minute “I’m In” Post

Yeah so I guess this thing could be pretty fun! Not trying to really make a winner here, just like the community feel to this and enjoy making little games! Looking forward to seeing all your finished products (don’t look too forward to mine, chances are I will not finish….)

Coding:

-Game Maker 8.1 Pro (Windows)

Art:

-Game Maker Built in Sprite Editor

-Paint.net

Sounds/Music:

-SFXR

First time

I’ll be competing in this for the first time. I’m a beginner so I’ll just be using Gamemaker. 😀

Can’t wait!

Awesome! Live stream it on twitch.tv so other beginners can check out your flow!

In, in, in!

Hi!

I can’t believe our first Ludum Dare participation was exactly a year ago. Time passes so quickly these days!

We’re ready and waiting for the theme to be announced. As always, my brother and I will be taking part of the 72 hrs jam.

Our toolbox:

  • Editor: Vim
  • Language: Haxe 3
  • Libraries: HaxePunk / OpenFL
  • Pixel art: Pixen
  • Sound effects: Bfxr
  • Music: Garageband

Godspeed and have fun!

Going for a second run!!

Better late than never, after barely surviving my first Ludum Dare back in April (with a jam entry) and missing the one in August (because I was too busy that day), here’s my obligatory declaration of participation post for my 2nd LD.

Again, I’m gonna attempt to submit a compo entry.

Likely Tools:

Language: C#
Engines/Frameworks: Going for Unity’s 2D tools this time
IDE: Monodevelop
Art: bvanschooten’s Random Sprite Generator, Paint.Net (Again, can’t draw to save my life :3), maybe Inkscape
Sound and Music: bfxr, autotracker with schism tracker, otomata/circuli, audacity (for general cleanup). I’ve been playing around with Bosca Ceoil for the past few days so I might use that as well
Misc: Notepad+pen (for jotting down ideas as well as going through problems step by step in case things go wrong)

Quick Question About Libraries and Such

So I plan to use my own libraries, but I’d like the ability to edit them while I’m working (if I need another draw method or a better display created, let’s say) and I only wanted to post the .jar file for them, would I still be allowed to use my files and edit them or is that a big bad no?

Thanks!

Oh I almost forgot…

To post a link to my standard Unity C# libraries. It’s just a bunch of helper functions: state machines, object pools, things like that.
Help yourselves!

Here goes nothing

First-time caller, long-time listener

Going to build my game with HTML5/Canvas/Javascript

Using VIM for all my text-editing needs

My GitHub is http://github.com/bttf

May the best game win!

Good luck to everyone

P.S. I also plan on using ‘chronolapse’ to capture the development process! Pretty excited for that as well .. :]

VAMflax is in!!!

Yo yo yo!!

This’ll be my second full LD, I messed up last time. Got the dates wrong and tried to cram a game around a normal weekend…

Anyway, this weekend is reserved and I’m hyped!!

I will be using:

Unity (C#, NGUI, Marmoset and Colorful shaders), Photoshop, Blender, sfxr, Nanoloop, Garageband, Goldwave, and maybe the Korg iPad app 😀

Will post back when underway!! 😀

2nd time in

As a startup founder, I’m in charge of my own schedule, which allows me to go nuts on the weekend.

  • Unity + 2d Toolkit – I tried to make my move on Haxe but was unprepared.
  • Hotweens – A free tweening engine for Unity.
  • Photoshop – I tried many other pixel art software but I still can’t live without Photoshop.
  • sfxr or LapChirp
  • Garageband

Good luck everyone!

HAVE FUN MY CHILDREN

Tenatively in!

Providing work does not call me I plan on participating for the first time here.

I have recently picked up Unity 3D and am working on a title with a partner but this will be a quick solo weekend to see how far I can push my Unity skills as that will benefit me overall and have fun while participating in the challenge.

For art I’ll be using Adobe Photoshop , Adobe Illustrator, and my personal library of photos / source textures.

For models (if used) ill be using Silo 3D and Blender 3D

For sound I’ll be engineering on my iPad with several different sound apps as well as possibly Fruity Loops on my PC. I may also dip in to sfxr depending on what the theme is and my game ends up being.

For personal code libraries I have some button pressing code that I re-use for projects but otherwise I’m new to Unity so there wont be anything else to bring over. I’ll probably stick with Monodevelop although if things get rough I could break out VS 2010 profesional ; trying to get away from it though :)

Its unclear if Unity plugins are allowed like 2D Toolkit, PlayMaker etc? I’m going to assume so because they are not actually game code?  If not someone drop me a line so I can avoid them?  I don’t know either very well anyways so it wont be a tragedy to not use them but I don’t want to get disqualified if I use them and its a ‘no-no’!

The fastest game I ever made was about 3 weeks .. Leprechaun’s Luck for iOS/Android heres a screenshot so you don’t get bored at the wall of text:

Leprechaun’s Luck a game I did in about 3 weeks

You can use any tools you have a legal right to use. Be careful about posting source, though. You might need to remove some editor scripts, so that you don’t accidentally redistribute the source to a commercial plugin.

Hey!

Obligatory “I’m in!” post here.

I’m very excited to participate for the fourth time now. Will try to put my life aside for the weekend and make something resembling a game. For the tools, besides the usual image & audio software, I will be using either my own 2d engine from here: http://code.google.com/p/quibble or Unity. That mostly depends on if I want 3d game or not.

Good luck everyone!

We are IN!

We are IN for Ludum Dare Jam.
Our team: Antonin Charvat, Brigita Linerova, Tomas Zak and me.

Our game will be based on Unity this time.

I wish you all a good time during Ludum Dare 28!

Tip for all you doing timelapse

I’ve made timelapses for my two previous compo. For the first one, I used the default encoder of chronolapse… The resulting quality was terrible. >_<

Then, on the last compo, I’ve used ffmpeg, which yielded much better results! Having all the files named sequentially as “img (1).png”, “img (2).png”, …, I just run the following command:

ffmpeg -r 60 -i “img (%d).png” -c:v libx264 -r 30 video.mp4

(Actually, I don’t remember if I read the files at 60 fps and output it as 30 fps or if I keep both at 60 fps… probably the later)

*Note: this post is mostly for later self reference, as I always forget this… xD
